PES 2013 - Football Life/Master League

Senior Squad

Hello, guys! Wondered if I would share my PES ML experience this year? Well, yes indeed I will. ;)

I got PES 2013 few weeks ago, played it a bit and decided to start ML, but this time with Brazilian team. PES 2013 have fully licensed Brazilian league with 2 original/licensed stadiums, which is the main reason I picked Sao Paulo (Estádio do Morumbi). As always, I started with fictional KONAMI squad, as I like challenge of building a team from almost nothing. I also didn't install any of the patches. This is ML on clean/original/default KONAMI product, updated only with official updates/DLC's.

Now, I will post list of fictional players you have when starting with Brazlian team.
- Take note that players are different when starting with European team.
- Players with "*" near their name are key players (by my judge :D)

GK - Ghadanto
GK - Qualadano
GK - Nerfedon

CB - Archandoz
CB - Pipindo
CB - Jarquecion
CB - Titie
CB - Cartoz
RB - Llamouha
RB - Monzon
LB - Hachiraoz
LB - Djaltao

DMF - Gharzemana
DMF - Terciuz
CMF - Queorze
CMF - Dezlando
AMF - Corquado*
AMF - Raltinho
AMF - Cirinboni
RMF - Iorghancini
RMF - Wynqua
LMF - Zerceto

LWF - Gertoni
LWF - Piyorriel
SS - Allejo*
CF - Walcao
CF - Marchamp
CF - Hostobaz

PES 2013 ML is a bit different then PES 2012 ML. Major differences are Items and Equipment with which you can boost players abilities and effectiveness of their training. All of this cost GP, which you gain by playing matches (40 GP per match if I'm not mistaken, no matter the win/loose/draw).

"The more matches you play, the more chances you have of unlocking boots, which in turn give your players a little bit of extra accuracy or allow them to be a touch lighter on their feet, depending on the boot you have unlocked. Boots are essentially a perk that, once unlocked, can be assigned to a player of your choice.

Similarly, there's now the ability to attach 3 other perk-like items to every player, as well as a pair of boots. The standalone PES shop has been sacrificed, and in its place is an in-game alternative which offers you a selection of items that vary in terms of their impact on your team. Have a spare 50 GP? Why not buy an extra point for one of your players, to be used on the attribute of choice? Have a spare 10,000 then you can improve all of a players abilities by 3, across all attributes.

Don't mistake this with the ability to throw money at your players in order to make them infinitely better. Only 3 items can be attached at any one time. At the absolute maximum you can increase a players' stats for one attribute by 15, but that would cost you 3 perks, each at 500 GP. When you bear in mind that you only earn between 40 and 50GP a match, it quickly becomes apparent that this is just a facility for you to have a direct impact on the training and development of your squad with the funds that you have earned from your victories."

So, let's start!

  • Sao Paulo
  • D2 League --> Brazilian League
  • Brazilian Cup

After playing 4 training matches (Score: 2-1-1), studying players and adjusting ideal formation, I received much better picture of my current squad as a whole. Average player stats are about 60, with few exceptions, like 35-yo striker Allejo - *82, with amazing attributes. Allejo is teams captain, and the oldest member of the squad, while most of the others are between 20 and 24 years old. Just like in last year ML, I see there will be a lot of job to do to make this team being at the highest possible level. I need at least 2-3 seasons to achieve that, at minimum. As for now, I played a lot of different formations and tactics, and with my usual 4-4-2 I was forcing 3-1-4-2 formation a lot, with great success.

I signed 2 youngsters from Youth Academy:
  • CB Bezquerangua *74 (17y)
  • AMF Gallarjo *64 (16y)
...and have sent 2 players on loan:
  • AMF Raltinho
  • GK Nerfedon

Season is starting with Cup match first. More updates soon. See ya!

No, mate. Can't tell you what's really new cause I haven't even play it in 2012. Always wanted though, but I usually stayed with ML completely.

The thing which ruins it is boots thing.

Good that jenkey released bootserver with his PESJP patch (the best patch for PES 2013 atm imo).

At least for your team you will get boots (sadly, wrong boots assigned to players, but fix is coming this week).

Great game otherwise ;). Much more of a sim than FIFA is. Though I do enjoy both a LOT this year.

I don't understand why they had to put an RPG aspect into the Master League when there is already an RPG-ish mode in Be A Legend.

It's still a fun game, but the boots & items seem really extraneous to me.
