Heya Hasan!

So you run pes under linux with Cedega? And you say it even runs 15% better then on Windows? Does it work with kitserver and other patches too? Can you run dkz studio via Wine maybe to apply patches?

All the information you and anyone else has about pes under Linux is intressting!

Hi,

no i play on windos my friend play and patch his game on linux but i don't understand what he do, he is vers strong on linux, you can do 2 have windows and linux on your pc, you install windows than linux then linux ask you when you boot "what do you want to boot 1 Linux(ex: Slackware) 2 Windows , you play on windows and you do what you want on linux, it's really very hard but finally the game is exceptionel on linux. If you have a high level on pc you know, you can try but really i advise you if you like linux install windows than linux or you can buy on ps2 :ewan:

Uh, if you're running a game under emulation it isn't going to be faster. I've heard Cedega works ok for some older stuff but most stuff is problematic. If you prefer Linux, best thing to do is dual-boot and just use Windows for games.

Uh, Cedega isn't emulation. Because Linux and Windows actually run on the same platform (a PC), you don't need to emulate Windows in Linux, you can just use other software (not emulators) to run Windows software in Linux. Sometimes, it can run faster. The way it works is to have a load of DLLs that run on linux, and behave the same way as the standard ones on Windows. That way when a program tries to interact with them it will think it's interacting with Windows, when in fact, it's actually a collection of seperately-written DLLs and programs that map Windows and Micro$oft technologies to their Linux and Open-Source equivelants, e.g. DirectX instructios get translated to OpenGL, etc.

Because you don't have to deal with the overhead of actually running Windows, some Windows games can actually run faster under Cedega on Linux, because the computer has less to do.

Also, there's a chance that the Cedega DLLs are actually better written and more efficient than their Micro$oft counterparts. Of course, there's no way to prove this as the M$ ones are closed-source. :jambo:

Not sure if PES6 works in Cedega, though. If it runs without problems, I might go back to linux - definately worth looking into! :rockman:
