PC, how do you add players?

I looked in the settings and saw players from 1-8. However, it seems that you can't add players. I can't change or add control device. Only keys i can change is the player "keyboard". Is there any way to add more players so people can play each other on the same keyboard? I thought this game is for 1-8 players.
