PC game crashes, when I want to update latest spuads

Hi everybody!

I've been doing some small editing in my PC FIFA11 game, such as kits, logos, boot, etc. Simple importing png-files. I've been using the great editing program Creation Manager 11 beta v. 5.2 for this. Sometimes when I've been editing in CM11, it resets my squads, when I enter the FIFA11-game. I don't mind this because I just download the latest squads in-game, and the game is up to date (so this feature have been working on my game).

But now when I try to download the latest squads, the game crashes when the download bar reaches a 100%. Can anyone help med??!?

Mainly I'm looking for a solution, so I can download the squads in-game again. I guess a solution is to uninstall/reinstall the game, but I would really like to keep the editing I've done on kits, logo, etc.

So is their anyway I can get the in-game squad downloading to work again, without the game crashing??
Or is their anyway I can keep all of my editing (mainly kits editing), and then reinstall the game??

Editing the game with Creation Master affects the game's database. The squads that you download ingame (and any editing that you make with the ingame editor) however require EA's default database (because they are designed and created on that basis). You cannot mix both. I assume that this is the reason why your game crashes.

As far as my knowledge goes, you don't need to reinstall the game.
If you have only imported graphics, you can replace the default database with kaiba_mx's database, which is the default one plus the winter transfers included. Then you won't need to download the squads again and your edited graphics will still be there.

In case you edited any values like player stats, positioning of badges, numbers or names on kits, or anything like that it gets a bit complicated - but there is a way to keep all your work without needing to reinstall the game, too.

Okay, I'll try that, and thanks a million for the help!

Though, I've been editing with CM11 for a while, and editing all the things you mention, but I was still available to download the latest squads in-game. But yeah, I probably edited something i shouldn't. Thanks again!

I just realized that I was partly wrong in my post above, of course the positioning of the kitlogos and numbers/names is not stored in the database but in the kits' .rx3 files. So by replacing the database you don't lose those edits! That explains why your squad downloads worked at first. But as you said, you must have edited something that is saved directly in the db.

I had the same problems like you and figured out that using kaiba's db as base for my editing is the easiest way to work around them. That way I lost some of my old edits first but with the latest CM version you get them done again pretty quick and thanks to the updated db you won't need the squad downloads anymore. Problems solved :). I'm glad if I'm of some help to you. ;)
