PC DEMO first impressions

I installed it on Vista 64. The only thing is that i can only choose 480 or 720 (HD?) but can only choose low quality. ( I have a 24" DELL and run 1920x1200)

Asus 8800GTS 640mb

Getting errors that my computer does not meet the min. specs. and i do not have 64mb VRAM.

You should compare games in same platform. PES vs FIFA on PC is so clear victory to PES.

Gamershell was the quickest for me Around 500kb/s

Zoom on to the faces... They look absolutely stunning! Never seen such detail on a PC game before! The new ref and linemen animations are great! The shooting system has been altered a bit. Can't score that many goals,.. will have to get used to it I guess!

In PES6 I play Master League on the maximum difficulty settings. Currently in 2023.. Last season I scored 173 goals and got 5 against. Guess I'm pretty good,.. but when I played on 5 stars with Brazil against Spain I got just 1 shot on goal and got the hell kicked out of me.

The ref is very stricked! Like pes4. Lots of new animations (new injury animations etc.), longer replays and I really liked the part were they showed a quick replay of your players celebrating... In one animation my scorer runned toward the bench and started hugging reserve players and the coach!! There isn't a maximum of highlights. PES6 had a max of 6 per game. I just had 9 highlights in the reel.

Can anybody be kind enough to describe with details the differences you noted from PES 6 to PES 2008?
From graphics to gameplay. I'm no asknig for scores, nor judgement, just the differences. Example: "Player models look more like real people. They move in a more realistic way. The shirts are better designed. In PES 2008, unlike PES 6, you can see the hair of Ronaldinho moving". etc, etc. Detailedly

The difference between 6 and 2008? A lot.

Stricter ref's, more fluent animations, more animations, a lot more moves, the crowd ooh and aahs a lot more. Everything is NEXT-GEN. You'll get a whooooole new experience.

In terms of gameplay. Through passes are a lot better, the players seem to have a bit less ball control wich makes it a lot harder. The opponents defense is way better and smarter and the CPU attacks with a lot more variety and it's quite hard to defend them.
Goalies make more mistakes, but are harder to beat when one on one.

I have a Dual core 2,4, Geforce 7600 GS, 2gb ram, XP. Nothing out of the ordinary. I can play with the max settings (allthough max res. in the demo is 1024x760)

man i had just downloaded the PES 2008 PC demo and i can't believe my eyes, the graphics are just amazing, it's next generation or what? cause if you ask me i would say yes!!!!!!!!! the screenshoots posted here are for real, they really are from the PC version. And it runs so smooth at high details, 1024x768 and i don't have a powerfull computer: amd athlon 2000+, 1 GB ram, GeForce 6600. And the gameplay it's also amazing, i just can't believe it, love the game, good job Konami sorry for my english!

Really? Well if that's the case I wonder what other "enhancements" they've done for the full version. :drevil:

BTW Wolf-2005 I think the demo only supports one player, even though a second controller is shown on the game screen and indeed I could configure a second controller in the system settings menu (in the pause screen) - but alas, I can't use it in the game.
