I tried it now along with my slider settings and damn finally got a balanced hard match, still some unreal long balls by the CPU but much better in general, using line values as bangus said, if someone want to try i can share the full sliders because i'm loving it for now , need to play more matches anyway
Please share your slider settings. Really appreciated. Thanks

Hi Paul,your last locale (13/10) it's the best so far!
I would just try to make the CPU a bit various in attack and a little worse under door.
Even some of cpu slide tackle would not spoil... ;)

Guys , i'm not trying to do some back seat modding but can we please not hijack @paulv2k4 thread , maybe share stuff like sliders via pm ? just saying...
Edit : @paulv2k4 your latest nightly (2017-10-17)improved on the previous one , finally the cpu aggressiveness doesn't lead to perfect passes, the cpu makes mistakes(whether it's passing or shooting), commits fouls and defending is more balanced as well.
one thing that i find annoying ( and that's not an issue from your mod) is how through passes are almost impossible ,the cpu always cut them off even when it shouldn't be able to

Hi Paul,

Want to start by saying that I'm enjoying your gameplay mods, and have been trying almost all of your nightlys. However, I'm not sure if I have done anything wrong on my part, but it seems that the gameplay mod works well in kick-off, or even skill games, but does not work very well on career mode. It would initially work well, and then throughout the season, in some games it would be reverted to the original default gameplay. I thought it was due to certain squad files, career mode files, or cheat tables that I used, so I deleted them, uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times and tried it out, but it seems that it still would not solve the problem. Not sure if anyone else encounters this issue, and if anyone has a solution to this I would really appreciate your advice. Thanks.

That has always been the case with FIFA. There is boost coding in the game that kicks in under certain circumstances and overrides all ini and db edits. In general, playing the top teams, rivals or important matches is when this coding kicks in. dang, is there any way I can prevent that from happening? It's like whenever I start a career mode, I'm really enjoying the gameplay from Paul's nightly, and then somehow after a few matches it reverts back to the same old annoying gameplay. And I've restarted countless career modes just to find out what the problem is.

No, but what I do when that boost coding kicks in is I use sliders to tweak the game play, to help re-balance things. Lowering CPU speed and accel sliders by 1 point each can help for example.

i see. to be honest i dont really know whether what I'm experiencing is actually the boost coding that you're referring to. It's more of like the whole gameplay seems different to me. For example players seem to become more unstable and stumble more, taking ages to control the ball and turn etc.

It works different ways, it overpowers the CPU; it makes your players weak and unable to win the ball 1v1 or unable to corral passes, etc. And it works the other way, dumbs down the CPU so as to allow you chances.

Yeah then i guess i'm experiencing what you're referring to then. Thanks for giving me the insight.

Paul I read your reply in aranaktu's thread, but was a bit technical for me ( I simply don't understand it:confused:)
Anyway i noticed that in your links you have a career mode mod with among the others a cmsettings with some modification to the default one.
Do they work or were just experimental?
I tried to modify cmsettings and formsettings with aranaktu's tool butwith no luck

I have noticed this too. Trouble is I keep testing my changes in a quick match and then forget that Career Mode speeds up so it causes issues. So. It looks like I would have to create 2 versions, one for Career, the other for other modes.

So no its nothing you have done wrong. Just me not testing my nightlies properly. Sorry about that.

Sorry. Its hard to explain without me showing you exactly what I mean on a piece of paper. Basically. When the game runs. It looks for the %s characters and then replaces them with an E (for England) for example. The Cheat Engine file does not do this change on top of the game, so it doesnt work.

They do work, but not perfectly. I use them for my career. It just changes some morale, training and transfer settings.

Don't apologise Paul, you're already doing everyone a service by trying to improve the gameplay and sharing it with us. I was just unsure whether or not my unstable gameplay was due to using your Nightly or using other mods i.e. cheat table. For now I have decided to reinstall the game and use the default gameplay, just playing around with the sliders. Will constantly check your OneDrive from time to time to see if there are any updates on gameplay for career mode. Good luck! :)

Paul I can 100% say that your gameplay patch work. It's a night and day difference when I deactivate it. I even tried extreme values and it works!

I am always messing around with gameplay. I do it every year just for fun. Sometimes I do not bother uploading a nightly because I feel that the version is not good enough. Although last night I won the league 2 playoff with it and i was jumping up and down! haha :dance:

The contexteffect settings or not just "ball physics". They affect everything from pass decision (direction, short, long, cross) to whether a player falls over for a foul. So it hard to get the correct balance for everything.

The other issue with the contexteffect settings is that they could be set incorrectly. You will notice a night and day difference if you use 1 instead of 1.0. So, which is correct? I think one of these values is glitching the game (into a non-default state) and the other is correct.

Lots to think about. And considering I have been looking at these values for around 5 years, I still haven't found a definitive answer on each of them!

Thanks Paul. Are there some not %s %i or %f characters so that the game code read them directly as standard characters?
In other words: are there some strings we can use and how to recognize which ones?

Do you know if there is a way to remove the influence of morale, form and team chemistry through those ini files?
Il fifa 16 I managed to do it by for example setting minimum and maximum form from 50 to 60 and minimum and maximum morale from 50 to 60.
Changing those strings semme to not to be working for me in the cheat engine tool.
So I'm trying to understand if I do something wrong (the cheat engine recognizes the game and seems to load the script) or if simply it doesn't work because those strings I'm trying to change are some of those you can't change because of the %s etc charcaters.
What do you think?

Also I tried to change cmsettings.
Usually to see if it works I change the:

WINDOW = 4 //Number of days before a match the user can talk to press

line; by changing the value 4 to 1 or something like that to see if it works (if I only have one day to talk at the press conference it works, otherwise no).
