Palacios flies home after brother is reported dead

LONDON (AP) — Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios flew home to Honduras on Saturday following reports that his brother, who was kidnapped almost two years ago, had been found dead.
Honduran authorities had said Friday that they found remains believed to be those of Edwin Palacios.
Palacios' brother was 16 when he was abducted from his family home in La Ceiba, Honduras, and had not been released despite the payment of the demanded $500,000 ransom.
"The lad had heard from his family at about 1 in the morning what had happened, and his brothers I believe have identified the body," Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said. "But he sat around the hotel lobby with his case packed until 7 a.m. because he didn't want to wake me."
Redknapp said the 24-year-old Palacios traveled back to London from Liverpool, where Tottenham's players were staying ahead of a Premier League match at Everton, to get a flight home.
"Things like that bring everything into focus," Redknapp said after his team's 0-0 draw. "You couldn't wish for a more calm and likable lad. Football is not really that important after this."
