apparently they've completely reworked it, especially the sound. They've been given the license to include the SFX from 01/02 so they'll now be in there along with the new sounds, and they should be in sync properly now. They've also reworked a lot of other areas of the engine including the ball physics and player AI, so hopefully no more 180 degree banana shots and players ignoring the ball. They have also apparently worked on the offside rule, but hopefully this means more than just showing the offside flag on screen every time there's an offside cos i get quite po'ed when a player is running with the ball and gets given offside for playing it ahead of himself.

Regarding the 2D match engine, I would like to see improvements to that as for some reason I do not like it at all. It is a good feature but it just seems dull to me, it makes the matchs take too long and makes you miss out many events. I would like to see it run alot faster, and the transition from overview to 2D match engine when playing in 'Key' mode to be a lot faster.

mine's instantaneous now, it's all to do with the spec of your pc, admittedly they could have done with making it run better on 'normal' pc's

Yeah, my PC is above average and its slow for me. Changing tactics then going back to the overview screen is slow aswell.

i have one thing i want to be able to do with the 2D match engine, its pretty lame:

I want to be able to select more than one person to track, at the min if you click on someone, it tracks them, but you cant do it for more than one person, annoying if you wanna construct a tactic.

i never really used that, i can tell who my players are from their number. One thing that is new in the 2d engine which i'm not sure if i've mentioned is that when a player gets booked, his name appears yellow instead of white.

I've never noticed that about the colour change, though I haven't used the 2D engine in ages. Infact, the only times I ever use it now is when I'm designing tactics.
