Italy, the only team with all its players based in Italy

mostly because once players leave Italy, they arent in contention anymore.

Cassano, Miccoli, Maresca and Moretti may have all been included had they been playing in Serie A

HOW is Zanetti not in Argentina squad???? That is appalling, hes been just as good this season as ever. Must be a personal thing.

Yeah, it is the biggest omission in the World Cup. :nape:

Chacarita Juniors

The artist formerly known as ronnifan9
- Lux over El Pato
- No Samuel or Gonzalo Rodriguez
- No D'Alessandro
- Aguero over Palacio (last season he was superb, this season...ok)

And of course Zanetti. WTF? :nape:

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Gonzalo Rodriguez is injured, same with Mario Santana who was hardly mentioned by the way.
Palacio is way too overrated, he could have taken Agüero or Diego Milito instead.
Samuel and D'Alessandro didn't really do a lot lately, it was bound to happen that Samuel would lost with G. Milito and Heinze eventually. I don't get why Cufre and Scaloni and not Ponzio.
I don't know who really brought that Duscher was going to replace Demichellis whhen Duscher was hardly on the plans of any call up.
About Lux, apparently Pekerman prefered Lux, but he followed the suggestion of 2 former keepers Filliol and Tocalli who prefered Ustari.

Probably Pekerman had to make a deal with a part from the media, he didn't call Ibarra but in trade he couldn't call Zanetti.:fool:

I don't get why some Zanetti, Demichellis and Ponzio aren't there. But anyway he could only call 23.(:/)

Pekerman confirmed that Riquelme will be wearing the number 10.

This is the biggest travesty in the history of sports, man. I don't know much about the quality of his replacements, but this makes absolutely no sense to me, man. He's easily top three in his position, can alter on the left side with ease, and maybe even contribute from the middle of the pitch if he was given the chance. There's absolutely no flaw that I can think of in his game even at this age. He's still a ******* horse. The epitome of a player who leads by his actions, man.

Great to see Cruz getting his shot..........hopefully he'll see action. I rate him way ahead of Crespo.

Team Captain
why was Burdisso picked over Samuel :|

Samuel is clearly a better defender and even is picked over Burdisso in Inter

and J. Zanetti is an amazingly strong force in any team

Where do you get the players' squad number?

for most teams, the numbers haven't been released. i think just a few teams (usa, england, germany, switzerland, brazil) have submitted the squad numbers to fifa.

Someone from the press asked him about the numbers after he shown the list, and he said that he couldn't remember them but that the one they would be interested knowing the most was that the 10 would be wore by Riquelme. Someone else asked about "1", then Pekerman laughed and said that he doesn't know yet.:o

It's belived that Argentina would use a very offensive formation said to be a 4-2-3-1, i myself believe it could be a 4-2-4 too.:o

I expect something like this.

-----------Pato-----------
?????--Ayala-Heinze--Sorin
--Mascherano-Cambiasso--
?????----Riquelme----Messi
----------Crespo----------

More likely Coloccini as the right back and Sorin would go a bit forward from the defense. I don't know if he'll play Cambiasso and Mascherano together, wouldn't be a surprise to see Maxi on the left, or maybe Mascherano a bit to the left and Lucho Gonzalez or Scaloni to the right, or the same but have Cambiasso instead of Mascherano. Maybe Messi to the right and Tevez to the left.

If it was a 4-2-4 probably like this.

--------Pato/Osky/Leo
-
--Coloccini---Ayala---Heinze
--------------------------Sorin
-
-----Lucho------Cambiasso/Mascherano
-
------Messi--------Román
------Tévez-------Crespo

Or with the said 4-2-3-1

--------Pato/Osky/Leo
-
--Coloccini---Ayala---Heinze
--------------------------Sorin
-
-----Lucho------Cambiasso/Mascherano
-
---Messi---Román---Tevez/Maxi
-----------Crespo

Or if he uses a classic 4-3-1-2.

--------Pato/Osky/Leo
-
--Coloccini---Ayala---Heinze
--------------------------Sorin
-
--Lucho--Mascher/Cuchu--Maxi/Cuchu
--------------Román
-
-----Tevez/Messi----Crespo

RUSI

El Merengue Argentino
I will kill someone if he starts Maxi :f***:

Out of those I would like this one best...

--------------Pato--------------
--Coloccini---Ayala---Heinze--
----------------------------Sorin
-
-----Lucho------Cambiasso/Mascherano
-
---Messi---Román---Tevez---
-----------Crespo-----------

I don't know if Lucho gives us enough defensive cover though. That is why I want Pekerman to play Cambiasso and Mascherano together.
I'd love a formation where we could see Román, Messi, Tevez and Crespo.

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
In that friendly against Croatia, he had kind of a 4-2-4 were all the four Riquelme, Messi, Tevez and Crespo played, with 2 on the midfield that were Demichellis and Cambiasso. But even with all those alternatives we're leaving out players like Aimar and Saviola.:o
