FINAL : Goal by Giovani. Mexico could have won but they lost this time thanks to a dive by robben and a soft penalty given by the ref in added time.

but why did FIFA send a european ref to this match?? should have been from africa or an asian country.

Yeah Robben made a meal out of it, but it was a penalty. The referee might have not been the greatest, for example this one should have been a penalty in the end of the first half. (shitty angle though)

So in the end justice was kind of served, but I can understand your frustration, if I were a Mexican I'd be pissed off as well.

Anyway you guys played well, but dropping too deep after taking the lead, and questionable substitutions might have cost you the match. I have a soft spot for Mexico and would rather have faced someone else, but that's football for you.

I saw it, it should have been a penalty as well. So the two penalties not called, cancel each other out, which leaves Robbens at the end, so it sort of works out.

Believe me, Europe isn't as united as you think it is.

Oh, I heard the commentators talking about some incident after the match, but didn't think it was anything serious, so I guess that must have been it. I think I missed it while on my trip to kitchen getting some beer. I'm surprised there are no gifs of it. That sucks, but what can you do. :/

Huh? Very funny. Okay let me rephrase, the commentators were discussing the match after it had finished, and also talking about the refereeing decisions that had gone unwhistled, also Mexico's penalty shout.

Herrera also got kicked in the head while in the box, but no one seems to be saying anything about it...
Must have been it.

4ucking dive by robben. marquez makes no contact, he places his foot on the ground and robben simply dives. if you can't see that then you are clearly blind. robben should have received a yellow earlier for diving and more than likely would not have tried to dive again in the penalty box.

Mexico were the better team overall but piojo got his tactics wrong and subs. should have tried to control midfield instead of sitting back and trying to score with a counter.

look at the image below, you can clearly see robben is diving before any contact is made.

BLACK MARK: Draft Pussy
If you guys honestly believe that Robben's dive was a penalty, then i see a valid reason as to why Americans see this as a sport for pussies. Since when is touching your oppenents toe a penalty? Don't give me the "he blocked robben's passage". fuck that shit go around, break marquez legs by trying to pass by, i dont know, we have legs for a reason.

Mexico was stupid for defending the lead early on.
What fucked mexico up was actually not the bunker, it was the pelotazos, that shit single handedly killed Mexico's lead.

Let me reevaluate the completely biased single shred of "evidence" that Mexicans are pointing at to say that Robben dove, ignoring everything else including clear video

In this split second, perhaps no contact is being made with Robben. However, Robben is traveling forward/sideways. Marquez's heel is touching Robben's toe. Marquez has his leg fully extended, after the point in time when the ball crossed his path, and that fully extended leg is right in front of Robben's path. It is all the way across Robben's body and directly in front of his outside foot, which means Robben's inside foot is totally blocked off by Marquez's leg. Marquez is going to trip Robben in the next split second in that picture, it is obvious. There's also fucking video, you idiots.

Marquez's foot continues to go forward from where it is in that picture, and completely blocks off Robben's outside foot, tripping him, while his knee makes contact with Robben's inside foot, which Robben could not have possibly avoided unless he stopped dead in his tracks and gave up on the ball. You can clearly see that Robben's right foot is eveb trying to avoid Marquez's knee by coming as close to his left leg as possible in an unnatural way.

Marquez put both of Robben's feet inside his own, tripping the shit out of Arjen Robben and making it a clear fucking penalty, regardless of player reputation.

Robben himself apologized for diving on that play.

That said I think it was because Marquez was stupid enough to give him the opportunity and even with the clear simulation it still is a penalty due to the intent...

Either way it still stings but whatever.

That's wrong information. He apologized for a different play, where he didn't get a penalty (somewhere halfway the second half). He didn't say anything about the play that caused the penalty.

Also, even if the one in injury time was a bit soft and I can understand why it's frustrating Mexico supporters; like someone pointed out earlier, he should have been given a penalty for the one in the first half. If you look at the slow-motion replay you can see he was tackled not once, but twice on that play. Clearly there was heavy contact on that tackle, since that Mexican defender who tackled him even broke his leg in doing so.

So in the end it all evens out. We're through well and deservedly.
