That's a little harsh. Last year wasn't his best season, but I think he brings much needed experience to the team and has proven with Chelsea and France that when he plays well he's one of the best defenders in the world. It sucks how Campbell leaves and he has an injury free season and we get Gallas and he has a decent season at best with lots of injuries.

He was talking about Gallas shouting his mouth off about wanting to leave Arsenal because they, (according to him) have no prospect of success unless they buy some established players. Which they have not done by the way.

Gallas needs good players around him to look good and he is afraid he's gonna get found out at Arsenal. He is no more loyal to Arsenal than he was to any of his previous clubs. He has a history of whinging and sulking.

Exactly, they bought some talents, or maybe good players. But they didn't bought fantastic players, they only sold one.

Gasp...a post of Pede's that...I can't find...anything...to disagree with?!?!?!?!

(H)

Yeah, we haven't bought any "established" players, but I'm fine with that. I'm a firm believer in the potential of this team, so I can live with a couple of trophyless seasons, if it means many in the future. I think buying a big name just for the sake of it might derail someone's development, which I don't want to see. That said, we do need a winger. As much as I like Hleb, and think he's a good player, he isn't a winger, and the jury is still out on Tommy out wide, so we could use a solid player there.

Also, someone needs to stone that fucker that tackled Denilson yesterday. Christ, it was a friendly.

Sorry for the shock there Brian.....:D

I didn't mean the lack of the buying of experienced players as a dig though, just a statement really. I don't actually think the Arse will do too badly this coming season with what they have.

I think Gallas is a prick, Djourou is better already and Senderos will get better, I don't care if he leaves.

Starting XI
Gallas is a c*nt. Something we can all agree on. (H)

Oh and, I think we should expect a lot more of 4-3-3 if we don't sign another striker/winger.

And with Sagna signed we may see Eboue on the wing more often... dunno if this is a good thing though. You reckon his mentalness would work better in attack than in defence?

Lehmannnnnnnnn
Sagna Toure Senderos Clichy
Gilberto
Fabregas
Rosicky
van Persie Adebayor Eduardo

I want something like this. Maybe switch Ade out, put RvP in the middle and play Theo on the right. Maybe.

If you put Adebayor out of that lineup it would look a lot better ;) Hleb shouldnt be on the bench, would be a shame.

I'm gonna be pissed if Hoyte gets shut out. Most improved player over that last year, and he isn't a nancyboy like Eboue, who's fucking crazy on top of that.

Adebayor is one of the best attacking players in the league. He does stuff nobody takes note of, he's the reason we got to the CL two years ago. Watch Henry's equalizer vs. Tottenham, you'll see exactly what I mean.

Starting XI
I'm sorry Brian but Hoyte is very, very average. It's not even hating against him, it's just that he won't be Arsenal's #1 (or even #2) right back barring major injuries.

Ade, if he could work on his finishing and cut out some of the flashy stuff that he tries to do and rarely comes off, could become a very very good player. Right now he's an okay striker who does too many tricks and flicks that (mostly) result in nothing. I love his work rate and stamina though. (Y)

I wonder what Wenger's plan is with Sagna, I wonder if Eboue will have a crack on the right wing. Either way hopefully the signing gives Eboue a jolt and he'll stop hitting the ground like a baby

i dont think his finishing is bad, just erratic. look at this goal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7axjeSw_iQ

sure he messes up sometimes but hes getting to henry-level finishing

I still think Adebayor is a bit robotic. The way he moves and stuff. He just isnt convincing. I would put Eduardo infront of him anyday. Let alone Anelka if he comes.

Now that Wenger has ruled out signing anymore strikers our starting XI will probally look like:
Lehmann
Eboue Toure Gallas Clichy

Hleb (or Walcott) Fabregas Gilberto Rosicky (or Walcott)

Adebayor R.V.P

I'd also like to see more playing time for Diaby, Djourou, and obviously Walcott.

I lke Arsenal, it's a good staring 11, don't forget the young Denilson, on the bench I think Diaby could be a great midfielder, Gunners need a new striker after losing Titi Henry, I trust Walcott but not Jens Lehmann, but the new goalkeeper Frankowski is a promise very important to me.

p.s. Peter, what do u do in the rivals' forum lol?:ewan:;):drevil::):mexican:

Nah, Adebayor is such a threat, just because of his physique, he's strong, fast and tireless. He can destroy defences jsut because he'll never leave them alone and when he gets the ball he can hold it up and beat his man. His finishing is his weakness nonetheless, but he's got potential to be excellent.
