Yes that's an rx3 from another game (12/13/14/15/16 are not always interchangeable).
You need a native rx3 which 100% works in your game, and just export-import the pngs there.

I tried to register this rx3 file as a specific kitnumber and copy it to the kitnumbers folder. It didn’t help either, although I put larger rx3 files, for example, from Macispla and everything works

Try a file that 100% works with the same name - if it shows up then the issue is the rx3, not the name.
