It depends on how long you play...Maybe, if you play 2 periods of 6 minutes the scores won't be so extreme . I guess NK play longer matches

In my latest update (v2.4) I played 3 matches of 20 minutes each half (a total of 40 minutes full match), and I have never got to score more than 3 goals a match. which means that in an 8 or 10 minute match I'll get at most 3 goals.

4-4 and 6-0 are weired scores, must be less, I believe. As I said before I'm looking for realism, either I'm playing a 6 or a 20 minutes match, I want to have the same chances. I hope that the next version well have that little bit of realism in it. I don't need only fun, I want real soccer.

Indeed after playing a few more games after my post, I realised that it was a bit too easy to score so everything is tund up again for those longer matches.

Now I have played 3, 16 minute matches and the score has been 0-0. I bet I could play for longer!! Goalkeepers are certainly beatable not just by their skill rating but the tuning also in terms of range and timing. They react more realistically despite their skill level, so they can save headers from corners much better now, yet you might take a hit of the ball from quite a bit out and watch the keeper respond too late and you might hit the post or score!! Those goals are so rewarding :)

I'm eliminating the 'easy header' goals, those that you get from corners and score 99% of the time.

Now it is possible to miss with headers much easier, they can go flying over the bar or wide, yet you can still score and hit the target! The ball physics are faster and harder and more exciting!! The pace of the game is slower, less shots, less goals, but player attributes are much more vital now, especially for speedy players' to break the defence. Mistakes are made much more often too, which adds to the unpredictable feeling that I am trying to create.

This update so far should be the best of the bunch.

I'm still working on the ball bounce, ball roll and ball gravity. So far the ball gravity has been increased and the ball bounce is being worked on to be 'realistic' with the types of dip the ball receives. E.g, the ball doesn't bounce horizontally up and down 10 times when the ball lands in on a much wider angle, then say from a goalkeeper clearance kick.

So far so good, it's all about the tuning :)

V5 should be my best efforts yet.

I have set all values to 0 for every variable and difficulty mode. Starting tomorrow I am going to use my past updates, and my recent knowledge to create something much better! The truth is V5 became unbalanced. It was harder to break a semi-pro defence, then a world class defence!!! Where is the sense in that? The only good thing was that the world class attack was much better then the semi-pro, but in having more attacks the world class defence allowed much more attacks also!! This wasn't what I wanted so I am going to create a tighter, slower game.

That will be all, I shall report back tomorrow.

Thank you Luis :) I have already made great progress and it is showing now. The CPU are playing much more realistically and slower, tactically and definately attack well!! They defend very good too. It still needs tuning up though, so off I go!

i wish there was someway the defenders would "bite" more of the fake moves. If you guys play NBA06 youll see whats the meaning of faking someone out. This has not been translated into fifa06

Sorry KULCAT but EA haven't programmed the CPU to use all the same skills as what the user is capable of. Although I kid you not I've seen a player 'fake' me before. V5 does encourage more CPU skill though, so keep playing when it's released ;)

Hey - it's not just me...but the Menu layout can be confusing....there's a lot of different areas - too many ....for instance I had to go to another site to find Kits addon for CEP 12 ....you seem to click and click and click some more before you get to what you want to DLoad...
Garbage maybe was too strong a word....more like frustrating.
