The commentary is the least of the problems. Commentary in a video game is by its very nature limited and thus is bound to get boring and repetitive. As far as I'm concerned, the only commentary changes that should be included are team names ("The score of course Bolton 4 Blackburn 0"), more player names (no commentary for either Ronaldo? WTF?!), and the ability to assign commentary names to people. In my career mode a guy named Trezeguet replaced Pires, and I have both him and David Trezeguet on my team. Yet only David has a commentary name. Additionally, there's no reason that Motson says Simon Davies' name but not Kevin Davies, we should be able to edit that in a player editor mode.

Hey those are great points. Except that about commentary being the least of our problems. Commentary, whether in real life or gaming is hugely important in order to add atmosphere (the right atmosphere that is).
I watch Fox Sports en Espanol. They have Copa Libertadores (Biggest S. American Cup). Anyway, they have a couple of Argentinean commentators that are absolutely amazing. They always did the Argentinean club games, except that last year they decided to put 2 other guys who also did the Argentinean club games (2 from I don’t know where). Let me tell you, I find it hard to feel the same passion with those other guys.
In brief, good commentators can make it or break it (when talking about game atmosphere). And in a Soccer SIM, atmosphere should be a huge part of the experience.

P.S.: The 2 commentators from Spain really suck… too European for my taste…

Alright! Just seen the video, Tyldsley's commentary is just so much better - plus it helps that he does more football than Motty now anyway. Tyldsley also covers the Championship for ITV as well as the Uefa Champions League.

Spanish Language CHANGE Confirmed

The Spanish language Commentary has changed. Now we will have Enrique Bermudez de la Cerna and Ricardo Pelaez.

"El Perro" Bermudez is a long time Comentator from Televisa and is VERY well known in Mexico and the United States. And Ricardo Pelaez was a former soccer player with a number of Teams in Mexico and the National Team which is remembered for his Goal against Holland in France 98. I really like Bermudez as a Narrator BUT since he repeats many lines in Mexican TV...it will be very boring very soon when playning the game. But again since he has repeated the sames lines for the past 15 years...it will be familiar and a bit exciting to hear while you play. Hopefully he comes up with some new material. I would love to hear him say ..."Tirititito" for the shots that are slow and lousy and "Saludos al Satelite Morelos" for high shots....he basically makes fun of playters when they miss....Anyway...this is a MAYOR improvement ot the the other Spanish language commentators before!

ya...Andy Gray is the man. EA should get Martin Tyler if they can, it will be more amazing ! I am happy with the commentary in the CL game...its nicely done.

The only thing EA needs to do sound wise is, well just increase the volume of the chants...i mean look at FIFA 2003. It had gr8 sound. The sound was loud, clear, reverbed(echoish) and i had to turn down the volume lol !!

More surround, echo effects will be appreciated i am sure and it will enhance the overall experience. They can reduce it for very small teams due to the capacity of the stadiums. It will be more realistic.

Overall, the game has some nice features added which should have been there before but its a start....it started with the CL game and i am happy that it is continuing.

I think they shud have tried to have had, motty as well as clive. They could have had clive for the european games and motty for the premiership matches, still its good commentary

Getting rid of John Motson and Ally McCoist as commentators is one of the best moves FIFA have made in years, Motson and McCoist are crap.... Andy Gray and Clide Tildesley are MUCH better... Clive's commentary is a lot lot better :)

The commentry is much better now for sure, Motson has the voice, but in game was always so boring and scripted, sounded like he was just reading the lines in a boothe thinking about dinner or somthing, wasnt great atall, now with Clive, atleast he has some conviction in his voice sounds better, as for Andy, well he is the man, just wish he said more, hes great at telling you about the players, strategies etc, if there was more of him the game would be even better...............as for this being important of coarse it is, football is just not visual, its not "just" about gameplay, look at PES, thats the game i play, but it does not even come close to FIFA in sound/commentry, and to be honest there is more improvement in the FIFA game this year, well done FIFA, im playing it more than the PES5 demo, im shocked...............about time the sound side of these games was given more attention, instead of basically using the same **** from the year b4.

Yeah............I dont know what it is about FIFA06.............sure its not perfect, there are things that need improving, off ball movement for one, but there is somthing about it im liking, im not sure what it exactly is, funny since ive been waiting for PES5 demo the whole time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ive always disliked FIFA games for obvious reasons but this one is different, and im glad.

Ive played PES5 demo but im not liking it, i should be loving it but im not, i love PES4 and thats all i play but PES5 is not giving me a boner, that might change when full version is released it has to........i know one thing tho im definately buying FIFA this year, im actually not getting bored with it and that is everything for me.........................go FIFA, thought id never say that lol.
