Network game

I havent played this game in a long time since i been playing CM4 all this time, but a friend of mine wants to play a network game on CM 01-02 since his computer can't take CM4 but everytime I try to start a network game it says Unable to create the network game. I donno what i am doing wrong, or if I'm doing the right procedure to create one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, that's the exact procedure i take but when it says "You may now remove the CD" and after i click OK, a screen shows up and says it wasnt able to create the game. I really have no clue why it's doing that.

Do you have some firewall active? Like ZoneAlarm? Make sure CM has the rights to send and receive data over the net if you do.
