Does anyone know if foreigners can ASSIST the national team?

It's good to know opinions are being fed back, and that opinions are being listened to...
The fact remains that we are currently voting for National managers ( and there doesn't appear to be any way of changing your vote, so if something happens to sway your vote after you've voted, tough ... ) but decisions are still being made about how national matches, player availability et al are still up in the air is incredibly worrying to me - it just seems things are being decided on the fly because MZ *need* national games because another online game has had them implemented and running for quite a while.
Important decisions about the implementation should have been fully considered, opinions sought, a workable plan fully in place BEFORE any voting for national managers takes place.
As it stands, a national manager doesn't know what happens with assistants - do they get voted in? appointed by manager?
I just think the notion of national teams is something the game needs. It's just been handled in an incredibly poor manner so far IMHO, and I hope that it's just a case of not publicising details and not that MZ have used an ad hoc development technique for it that saddles us with a poor implementation.

I agree that the Hattrick international thing looks great. I've not been playing long enough to actually see one of the competitions but my friend has let me know how good it is. Apparently someone other than Sweden won the last one!
But this is the MZ way. Don't think things through and hope they turn out for the best. Organisation is not it's strongest point.

Yeah, there's a vibrant community in HT, the structure is there.
Obviously HT is a different game than MZ, but certainly there was an upset in that Sweden lost in the u20 world cup, losing in first round group stages. That same day, their main national side lost in a friendly, first time Sweden had lost in both games on same day.

I'm pretty sure the national things will evolve into something good over time, but it's the same as any software - if the foundations are poor, then you're continually bug fixing when adding new functionality.
