Stupidity. He will score the goals but I have never noticed him in big games. Never been impressed with him against us. He will be invisible in the champions league.

great striker

On the ball he is very good, no doubt. He guarantees goals. But I'm not sure if his presence is good for the rest of the team. More goals does not mean the team on the whole will work better.

Stats show that he is one of the players who covers the least distance in the EPL. Old Ibrahimovic himself is slow but "covered more ground and made more high-intensity sprints than Lukaku" (Skysports stats). "His passing accuracy is far lower than the likes of Ibrahimovic, Aguero and Harry Kane".

Good striker, no doubt, but not the kind of striker for an elite team. He is sub par when off the ball. He won't bring Man U to the next level.

Oh and tits.
I see where you're coming from of course but on paper it looks like a good move. You needed a CF who scores a shit load of goals and he is PL proven on top so its very Mourinho esque to go pragmatic. You should go ahead and move for James, Perisic and Fabinho now. Would make a complete squad on paper.

Lukaku
Perisic-James-Mkhitaryan
Pogba-Fabinho/Herrera
Blind-Lindelof-Baily-Valencia
De Gea

And with your squad options it should be a team more than adequate to challenge for the PL and do well in the CL.

On the ball he is average. Lukaku is good inside the box, Air and playing backwards.

A CF like Lukaku who contributes very little off the ball won't make players like James or Pogba blossom. Signing James would be pointless. I don't see how he will work with Lukaku. A good striker does not have to just score goals. They have to do more than that. Players like Darren Bent never became elite precisely because of the same reason. This is just an example. I know Lukaku is much better.

That squad looks like a good Europa squad. Perisic will do more harm than good. He is inferior to Mkhitaryan, comes from a league where Salah or Gervinho are superstars and will significantly hamper the development of Martial and Rashford.

I don't agree with these transfers but they may work who knows. I'm not that hopeful on Lukaku or Perisic.

I'm an admirer of Lukaku, but yes I think this could be true too. More Mario Gomez than Mario Mandzukic.

A good Serie A winger usually becomes an average EPL winger. I am not saying Serie A is bad. It's just how the trend is. Different league different style.

Some stats of Lukaku:

Last season, 21 of his 25 Premier League goals came against the bottom 13 teams in the league.

He'll have support from his new team mates. Manchester United does have better players than Everton. No offence to everton fans. So he could perform well against bigger teams on a regular basis. Personally I believe 75m is too much for lukaku

surrounded by better players he will improve

He is going from 7th placed Everton to 6th placed United so it's not a huge upgrade.

Anyway as I pointed out above, he scores lots against bottom half teams but if you remember, most of our dropped points were against bottom placed opponents. I guess time will tell how we do with him. There are pros and cons I suppose.

He can still improve and hopefully in the next 3-4 years he can improve on link up play and leading the line.
