That's because Messi was already one of the best, last year... he just wasn't given chance to prove it against tougher oposition...

But he definitely proved his worth in the U-20 World Cup... he single-handlely carried Argentina to the title... of course that Argentinian side was very good, but he was the player that made all the difference...

He has not improved much... he's still excellent... one of the best!
