Most Hated Club in Europe

I'm going to be honest, I think this thread stinks. I'm doing it for one reason, and one reason only: because 6 years ago I wrote a little Championship Manager story about destroying Real Madrid that was very well received and very fun to write. Here is a link.

In 2004, Real Madrid were clearly the most hated club in the world. Beckham, Figo, Ronaldo, etc were much loved, but also MUCH hated by football fans. In 2010, the club that people exact the most schadenfreude from is not as obvious. As such, I am going to poll you guys. Does this belong in the FM Forum? Perhaps, but there isn't enough traffic in there to get a decent response. I've excluded Bayern from the poll because I don't want to destroy my own club, but if you really hate FC Bayern, this is a thread about the most hated club, so feel free to mention it.

EDIT: Oh, and voting is anonymous, so don't worry about fans of one of these teams seeing your vote and resenting you for it.

My reasons are outlined above, but if you want one more, Bayern is not in one of the top European Leagues. Why don't I just put Steaua Bucharest and Dynamo Kiev in there too?

Bayern its only hated in germany. I hate madrid sinze i born, before i liked football i already hate real madrid and love barça.

Has to be Madrid. They always spend big to buy big stars, so all the people that believe in developing your own players can't like them. They have the spanish government backing them, so most people in Spain can't like them. They won so many CL titles that just the general human nature of "hatin" has to make them unlikeable by most. Only way I see for them to be likeable is to have very likeable/personable/honest players and that's far from the case.

I figured it would be Real and Man U grouped at the top, but a Madrid noticeably at the top, with Chelsea taking a clear third. Guess a lot of the Abramovich resentment has worn off.

No it hasn't. The free-spending has shifted north to the City of Manchester Stadium. That kinda takes some of the zing out of them....a bit anyways.

Plus, it's all about the now. Right now, Barcelona is winning and that's been the case for the past few seasons. Chelsea, on the other hand, has only just ended their barren run. Once Chelsea returns to the latter stages of the CL, while still being title-contenders on other fronts, the haters will get louder. This poll in 2004-2006 would have no doubt had them near/at the top.

Im pretty sure that people voting for United are Liverpool/City/Arsenal/Chelsea fans. In any other league, people don't really hate United that much, its all rivalry. Whereas, you will find Real haters everywhere

United is probably my most hated club and I'm a neutral as far as the EPL is concerned. I haven't voted in the poll though.

I voted for Real Madrid, and I even kind of support them. But I really dislike their money spending and lack of continuity both on the manager and player side, the board never give the manager time to build something, he will be sacked at the end of the season no matter what really. You could add City to that money spending aspect, hope they fail miserably.
