I don't know if you care to read the whole initial post, might be a bit tedious, but basically if you skip down and look at the results of the two tests that the person did it looks highly promising, and I think your gameplay mod has a bit of what is there, but maybe taking some of the things they did might help with the foul situation.


I think I figured out which db in the moddingway folder I use. With the moddingway selector there are 10 dbs to choose from and in the moddingway db folder there are 10 files numbered 1-10 so it looks like since the one I use is #6 down from the top in the selector, it must be the #6 file in the folder. The problem is that when I try to open that file with db master I can't. If you do load file its not in the folder and if you go to the folder and do "open with" the program starts with nothing opened. I even tried to regen bh again to no avail. I feel like I'm missing something simple. The only db's I can edit are the ones in the db folder but not the ones in the moddingway folder that is in the db folder. .bak, fifa_ng_db, etc is all I can edit...

Yep, something I've figured out over hours of editing last year. It's never to the extent you hope though. The WC 14 version is nearly ready, so if anyone with the patch wants to give it a go, send me a pm. I would like a private testing environment this time around.

The fifaccitiu mod apparently fixes the transfer problem by removing the trait so I guess I will give that a shot although I'm not sure how I feel about the attributes being changed since I already like how your mod plays as is. And in some ways trying to narrow down a player's playstyle is somewhat pidgeonholing because messi is put as a deep attacking cf, when I consider him a player who is also deadly in the midfield running around passing as a playmaker. Some players are basically dominant in multiple roles imo. I was going to put that out there to you for your attempt at including roles is that some players should be allowed to have 2 or 3 at once. It will help the really good players stand out even more I think. Anyway thanks for the help and for pointing me towards that mod.

I agree, but EA's gameplay base makes too many players Carlos-of-all-trades. It's more beneficial to concentrate a player's skill through db editing on a single style or two, than to leave most attributes close to one another ratings-wise. Also, there's no way to completely condense a player down to one style in FIFA. I've seen players with bad crossing attributes and high longshot attributes attempt many more crosses than distance strikes in a game, so assigning personalized styles can only go so far as to push the player's ratings in the right direction -- towards their real-life playing style. I'm working on new db algos right now to pair with my slider script 2.0. There will be more details soon.

Okay, I'm creating a couple of versions for you guys:

1. Slow buildup and speed with minimal User slider randomization and less CPU pass error at midfield.
2. Same sprint and acceleration as last time, but slower buildup and decreased user slider interference.

These versions will each come in variants:
1. FIWC14 mod compatible: both keyboard and controller.
2. Normal FIFA 14 compatible: both keyboard and controller.

Might be done today.

Buildup is still not quite right, but it's getting pretty close to a hybrid between fun and realism. Should have time to fix it this weekend.

I think the issue with the buildup is that the way they defend is predictable so you can rush and get away with it. Basically at the speed that both sides can go, passages like that happen in actual games but not for the whole game. So in the team tactics you can set how hard your team pressures and set it to press but the cpu doesn't do that. So right now it leads to a lot of standing around and easy build up. And even your own defense gives the cpu easy build up. Having the line height vary helped that a lot, they will reposition more, then combining that with defenders occasionally having moments where they are super aggressive would really help a lot. The peak level of aggression that defenders do is much lower than actual games I think.

I agree completely. There needs to be some initiative to force the AI and the User in some instances to patiently build up and look for the killer pass, so I've attempted to compact the AI and user defenses as the team with possession nears the goal they are attacking. The only variable here is how tightly they will mark -- sometimes close and personal and at others lenient and unaware. This will create situations where the User can recognize holes in the AI defense and make them pay. Not much time to implement this yet as it involves db editing in addition to the slider mod. I think I will release the next script with a database mod package, so let me know what base db I should use. Strengthening defense is key for me currently.
 
Apologies for the long hiatus guys. I'll be off and on intermittently for FIFA 15 and will continue the slider script, db, and ini there. Looking in the FIFA15 demo.exe right now for a starting point come the end of September. :D

have you ever found a way to change ball physics??? As Waldo said: "Air ball bounce too fast of the surface making it impossible to catch very often" this is the main problem of ball physics!!!

Not for FIFA 14... I have an idea for FIFA 15 though, but this idea is just a concept right now.
