Gimme a break man.. I'm in no way defending Israel here and I think their aggression towards the entire country of Lebanon is illegal and grossly excessive, but you really need to open your mind and stop seeing things so one-sided. The Katyusha rockets that Hizbollah fires indescriminantly at Isreali towns are filled with thousands of ball-bearings, designed for the sole purpose of taking out human life, military, civilian, whatever.. The statistics speak for themselves in regards to civilian casualties, nobody can deny that, but quit trying to make it sound like only one side has blood on it's hands here.

btw, you already posted that article, find a new one..

Foreal man, this Knight guy is ridiculous.

What else can Israel do?. Hezbollah is hiding behind the Lebanese people like a buncha pussies. Israel has to take out Hezbollah one way or the other... for the world's sake, it'd be better sooner than later. How'd all those Katyusha rockets get strategically positioned all around Southern Lebanon? We're talking about thousands of rockets here. They didn't just one day magically appear there. Hezbollah's been planning something like this for a while now, afterall THEIR main objective is to destroy Israel remember. NOT just Israel's military, every single Israeli... man, woman, child. I hate to break it to you man, but Hezbollah really aren't the angels you're trying to make them out to be. And of course there's going to be civilian casualties... these terroists are hiding in CIVILIAN clothes, IN CIVILIAN BUILDINGS, AROUND CIVILIANS!! It's kinda sad that Israel fails to see that they've been baited but it's really a lose lose situation for them no matter how they handle the situation. If they try and root our Hezbollah from Lebanon, they're obviously going to have to do it on the ground by force. If they just sit back, Hezbollah will just get stronger and who knows, maybe even someday aquire a nuclear missle from Iran.

All in all, the whole Middle East pisses me off. Buncha grown up kids. I guess that goes for the rest of the world too. And no Knight, I'm not biased towards Israel, I'm just tellin' it like it is, in BLACK AND WHITE.

Muslims need to learn how to squash beef. Why can't you guys be like the Mexicans?

Corrupted socialist governments, economical failure, unemployment, lack of religious conscience, no hope of any future ---> Extremism. Add to this desperation coctail, a war where hundreds of muslims are being killed (possibly lost a family there?), by a foreign government. Take this ignorant thug in these circumstances, fueled by an unjust (WMDs?) war headlines, and convince him that the people of these countries are guilty as well, and that he will be rewarded for ridding them, and you have a terrorist on ur hand.

Never mind Islam, the Qur'an, Prophet Muhammed's narrations, never mind "He who harms 'a person in peace' (a civilian) is my enemy (adversary) on the day of judgement". Never mind anything.

Blind and ignorant. And deeply rooted.
And ultimately, disasterous.

I've been unemployed... didn't like my government and felt a lack of hope for my future...

That didn't make me want to go and kill people who didn't have the same religious beliefs as I did. I went back to school, found a nice job, and now have a happy life. Is it different living in the US as opposed to the middle east? Of course it is, but the citizens of those countries let extremism run rampant and do nothing to stop it. I don't feel bad for them.

Hundreds of Jews have also been killed in suicide bombings and rocket attacks too. I still don't see ordinary jews strapping bombs to themselves and firing rockets at arabs...

This whole conflict will keep going on, and on, and on... Partly because of peeople like you Knight, who keep making excuses for the failures of an entire middle east for decades to make thier lives better. All you do is blame Israel for the regions problems while Israel just keeps pushing on in prosperity with their country and their lives.

Good post.

I wonder how many of those "civilians" are actually Hezbollah who are just dressed in civilians clothing. You make a good point about Israel being baited too. And Israel is in a lose lose situation. The entire world except the US hates the country and does everything it can to bring it down. How many peace agreements does Israel have to sign when the other side never agrees to them? Hezbollah has already fired more rockets after the cease fire was in place.

Israel should have pressed on and destroyed as much as they could while they had the chance.

Yes, they were indeed Hezbollah women, Hezbollah teens, Hezbollah homes, Hezbollah family keepers, Hezbollah bridges, Hezbollah cars, Hezbollah ambulances, and Hezbollah children who were killed in hundreds in less than a month worth of Israeli war crimes.

You've wondered correctly. It's just one big costume play for your eyes only. Now try wondering where you left that shoe. You know, the one you kept in your head when you wrote that.

23 Children burned to death in Israeli missile strike

Israel steeply escalated its military campaign against Hizbollah in Lebanon yesterday with a series of air strikes that left more than 35 civilians dead, including a single strike on a convoy of families fleeing the fighting in a village near Tyre in the south of the country that killed more than 20 people, most of them children.

According to witnesses and photographs from the scene of the worst incident, an Israeli missile incinerated a car and a small truck full of families leaving their Lebanese border village of Marwaheen near Tyre after the Israeli army used loudhailers to tell residents they had just hours to go. Pictures showed charred bodies of children strewn across the road.

UN peacekeepers recovered the bodies. Half the passengers were children or teenagers, according to medical sources. It was the deadliest single strike since Israel started an air campaign against Lebanon after two of its soldiers were captured by Hizbollah on Wednesday.

In an interview with CNN he said that more than 55 bridges had been destroyed, and that Israeli forces had also targeted ambulances and medical convoys.

"This attack is no longer against Hezbollah, it is an attack against the Lebanese and Lebanon," he said.

Bombed-out roads and bridges are hampering aid efforts and on Thursday the UN warned that the humanitarian crisis was worsening by the hour. About 500,000 people are believed to have been internally displaced by the conflict.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5202142.stm
Israel's attack on convoy a 'mistake'
Saturday 12 August 2006, 1:50 GMT

Israel has admitted that it was "mistaken" in attacking a convoy of hundreds of cars carrying people fleeing the fighting in southern Lebanon.

At least seven people were killed and 36 wounded when an unmanned Israeli aircraft fired on the convoy of more than 500 vehicles.

The Israeli army confirmed it had carried out an air strike on the convoy, saying it had acted on the mistaken suspicion that Hezbollah guerrillas were smuggling weapons in the vehicles.

"The attack was carried out based on a suspicion. It was found to be incorrect," an army spokeswoman said.

Coffins are prepared for mass burial in the Lebanese city of Tyre.

The ambulance headlamps were on, the blue light overhead was flashing, and another light illuminated the Red Cross flag when the first Israeli missile hit, shearing off the right leg of the man on the stretcher inside. As he lay screaming beneath fire and smoke, patients and ambulance workers scrambled for safety, crawling over glass in the dark. Then another missile hit the second ambulance.
Even in a war which has turned the roads of south Lebanon into killing zones, Israel's rocket strike on two clearly marked Red Cross ambulances on Sunday night set a deadly new milestone.

Six ambulance workers were wounded and three generations of the Fawaz family, being transported to hospital from Tibnin with what were originally minor injuries, were left fighting for their lives. Two ambulances were entirely destroyed, their roofs pierced by missiles.

12 bodies found by south Lebanon roads
From correspondents in Tyre
August 01, 2006 05:03am

LEBANESE Red Cross teams recovered 12 bodies, among them an eight-year-old child, on roads in the south of the country today, a spokesman said.

The bodies "had been there for several days in cars on roads in the Jibbain and Klaileh region" near the coast, said the Red Cross spokesman who did not wish to be named.
An AFP count has put the total number of people killed in Lebanon at 530, including 455 civilians, since Israel launched the onslaught following the capture of two Israeli soldiers in a Hezbollah raid on the border on July 12.

Rescue workers say dozens more civilians, including a large number of children, are still buried underneath the rubble of houses destroyed in Israeli air strikes around Tyre.
Israeli air strike kills 51

An Israeli air strike killed at least 51 Lebanese civilians, including 23 children, in the southern village of Qana today, in the bloodiest single attack during Israel's 19-day-old war "on Hezbollah".

No Rocket Launches from Qana
B17245 / Tue, 1 Aug 2006 09:18:32 / "War on Terror"

It now appears that the military had no information on rockets launched from the site of the building, or the presence of Hezbollah men at the time

The Israel Defense Forces had said after the deadly air-strike that many rockets had been launched from Qana. However, it changed its version on Monday.

The site was included in an IAF plan to strike at several buildings in proximity to a previous launching site. Similar strikes were carried out in the past. However, there were no rocket launches from Qana on the day of the strike.
And from eye-witnesses in Qana
Red Cross workers and residents of Qana, where Israeli bombing killed at least 60 civilians, have told IPS that no Hezbollah rockets were launched from the city before the Israeli air strike.

The Israeli military has said it bombed the building in which several people had taken shelter, more than half of them children, because the Army had faced rocket fire from Qana. The Israeli military has said that Hezbollah was therefore responsible for the deaths.

"There were no Hezbollah rockets fired from here," 32-year-old Ali Abdel told IPS. "Anyone in this village will tell you this, because it is the truth."

Abdel had taken shelter in a nearby house when the shelter was bombed at 1 am. When the bombings finally let up in the morning, he went back to the bombed shelter to search for relatives.

He found his 70-year-old father and 64-year-old mother both dead inside.

"They bombed it, and afterwards I heard the screams of women, children, and a few men -- they were crying for help. But then one minute after the first bomb, another bomb struck, and after this there was nothing but silence, and the sound of more bombs around the village."

Masen Hashen, a 30-year-old construction worker from Qana who lost several family members in the air strike on the shelter, said there were no Hezbollah rockets fired from his village. "Because if they had done that now, or in the past, all of us would have left. Because we know we would be bombed."

Qana had been a shelter because no rockets were being fired from there, survivors said. "When Hezbollah fires their rockets, everyone runs away because they know an Israeli bombardment will come soon," Abdel said. "That is why everyone stayed in the shelter and nearby homes, because we all thought we'd be all right since there were no Hezbollah fighters in Qana."

Lebanese Red Cross workers in the nearby coastal city of Tyre told IPS that there was no basis for Israeli claims that Hezbollah had launched rockets from Qana.

"We found no evidence of Hezbollah fighters in Qana," Kassem Shaulan, a 28-year-old medic and training manager for the Red Cross in Tyre told IPS at their headquarters. "When we rescue people or recover bodies from villages, we usually see rocket launchers or Hezbollah fighters if they are there, but in Qana I can say that the village was 100 percent clear of either of those."

Another Red Cross worker, 32-year-old Mohammad Zatar, told IPS that "we can tell when Hezbollah has been firing rockets from certain areas, because all of the people run away, on foot if they have to."
Six children and one woman killed

An Israeli airstrike flattened a house in the border town of Nmeiriya in southern Lebanon Saturday, killing a woman and six children, Lebanese security sources said.

Three children and their parents among 9 civilians killed

The bodies of nine Lebanese civilians, including three children and their parents, were also found along Maarub-Dardghia road near Tyre Friday afternoon, said Civil Defense Officer Salam Daher.

The bodies, which were decomposing, were found during efforts to recover the dead and evacuate towns in southern Lebanon, he said.

And that's just the past 30 days. And merely a sample from them.

I doubt you even know what the term "racism" means... And I do believe a lot of what happened was a "costume play" as you put it. Hezbollah did a good job at manipulating the world, through the media, to rally to their violent "destroy Israel at whatever pace we can" cause.
