This is one i'm option i'm not all that sure on.

Is it the players aproach to the game? I.E If mentallity was set to Attacking, He'll look to pass forwards more often and create attacks, rather then do the safety option if it was set to Defensive.

Or is it how high up the pitch the player will play?

Anyway post your thoughts on what you think it means, heres what i usually do anyway...

DR: One below default
DL: Same as ^^
DC: Normal, one above Defensive.
DC: Same as ^^
RM: Normal, one above default
LM: Normal, one below Attacking.
CM: Defensive, one below Normal.
CM: Normal, one Below Attacking.
CF: Attacking, one above Normal
CF: Attacking, two or three above Normal.

It's just how attacking minded the player is I think. I have my striker and creative AMC on very attacking settings(18-20) and defense and DMC pretty low(1-4).

I play 4-3-3, that can go to 4-5-1 in difficult and important matches. I play Sporting Lisbon, 6th season.

DR and DL just have the same mentality as the team, but if they have for example, a strong LW, I put my DR a bit more defensive and with less forward runs.
DCs don't move. Super defensive, no freedom criativity, but going up both on the corners (or not in 4-5-1)
The 3 midfielders act very much like Mourinho style. One recovers every ball and is important in the first pass to construct game. (Rogerio or L.Cana). It stays defensive.

The other is between attack and defense, like did Maniche in Porto. For me Dudu Cearense or L.Cana do the job well. it stays around normal/attacking

The middle one has the creativity (Brighi), team mentality.

Wingers have team mentality and attacker has full attack.

Works quite well...

I consider myself a good tactician, playing quick and attacking

DR: One after Defensive (or at defensive limit by normal)
DL: Same as ^^
*Playing a defensive 4 at the back works great, they still help out a bit in attacks by receiving the ball with no one around them

DC: Maximum defensive or 1-2 more attacking
DC: Same as ^^

RM: Attacking (right at)
LM: ^^
DMC: Midway between Normal and max defensive
AMC: 1-2 above attacking
CF x2 : Maximum attacking, they can set up and create goals just by themselves often

:ewan: Mourinho #2

Ironic though, my style of playing FM is pretty much like Mourinho. Works very well...a fast paced team, 3 CM to hold the midfield battle, and a great striker (Liedson, Zigic, Porcellis, which should I choose :lui: )

the only bad thing is that I lost 2 CL finals in 3 years, and I didn't deserve to lose both...but the national cups and championship comes unto me... :jap:

I have the ability to get in top 5 with almost any relgation battling team by using my tactics (i usually create one from scratch too depending how good or bad the team is) but it only works with a 4-4-2 (with different midfield positioning) playing attacking, counter-attacking, and quick
