You guys not fond of Daley Blind?

I am very fond of him but he can't replace Carrick. He does the defensive work superbly and allows the 2 other midfielders to go forward but he lacks the passing range that Carrick has. He is a Busquets kind of player who doesn't suit the EPL that much. He sits deep and make sure the team maintains possession. He makes mostly short passes. He can make long passes but does it infrequently. For now I'd prefer we get a better defensive midfielder and play him at left back because he is currently our best LB. Shaw will get there in a few years.

Here's some stats about Blind

Of players who played more than 15 games in 2014/15, only Coquelin and Jedinak have more interceptions per game than Daley Blind.

Daley Blind made most passes per game than any player in the league in 2015.

However, probably half of these games were as a left back.

I really like Schneiderlin but I would be cautious about signing from Southampton and expecting those players to be as good for you as they were for them, the experiences of Liverpool and others last season make me wonder if it's as much about the ethos of Southampton as the players themselves which result in such good performances.

Agree. I love him but we should aim higher IMO. He won't offer too much more than what Blind can offer TBH. We need upgrades, not just players to provide backup.

I am suspicious of van der Wiel because I remember some super dodgy performances in a Holland shirt.

Yeah I'd prefer someone else but TBH, who would be available? There are no worldclass RBs at the moment. I wouldn't mind him because I don't think we can get anyone much better and would be an upgrade over a winger (Valencia) or the good but always injured RB Rafael.

Mata is brilliant, he just needs a system that covers his flaws. He was one of the best playmakers in the world for 2 years with us.

This.

He is fantastic when played properly. I think he should play in Fellaini's left sided attacking midfield position with Herrera and Carrick behind him. He is wasted on the right wing. He has no pace to play there.

Looks like Liverpool and Chelsea are both looking to buy Falcao. He has had a very poor season with us but I don't think he's finished. He was just in the wrong team where tactics don't suit him at all. We played possession football and made very few chances. He suits a more direct approach. I think he may be good for Chelsea (but he'll probably have to be benched). Not too sure about Liverpool, depends who they get to replace Sterling and Gerrard.

In other news, we are keen on Kane. I thought he had a terrific season and shows signs of promise but I am extremely skeptical about splashing 50 million pounds on him. He has had only 1 great season. He may not be ready to make the step up IMO. Needs a few more years to prove itself. He may have been a one season wonder.

I hope it won't be th case but Kane could easily turn out to be the next Andy Carroll, he plays a very old, almost antiquated style, which has been effective thus far because nobody was expecting it, but he will need to show ability to adapt or else he will fade. Spending the big bucks on him now is a gamble, though I think he woild be effective at sealing the goals against mid table teams, which is something you lacked last season

Yes at 50m he'd be a gamble. We still have a lot to see of him.

Guess who was our fastest player last season? Wayne fat Rooney. His speed was clocked to up to 35 km/h in one game.

Wayne Rooney being the fastest player tells a lot about the team.

These stats don't tell the full story, slower, less agile players get more time to sprint and reach their top speeds because they are chasing often

yeah of course but I thought players like Young or James Wilson or Di Maria would have faster clocked speeds. Acceleration also plays a role. Rooney has very slow acceleration making him look slow.

Congratulations boys thanks to your fucking around your thread is now made by someone who doesn't give a shit about your club or even your league and I think that could prove a massive jinx (though not as bad a jinx as chyrgy)
