We were never gonna sign him, so I can't complain, but I'm weary of such a good player signing for you.

^LOL exactly my thoughts.

Fergie said he was gonna make 3 signings. We have 2 now and De Gea very likely. Thats like 55 millions spent. Will he sign a midfielder? Looks more and more unlikely.

Midfielders left:

Anderson,
Ryan Giggs,
Michael Carrick,
Darren Fletcher,
Darron Gibson,
Ryan Tunnicliffe,
Paul Pogba

As good as Blackpool or Stoke.

Maybe Fergie is thinking of turning Smalling, Jones or Vidic as a DM? Not a good idea.

Add Cleverley, Young and Park to that. I can see Young playing in the middle for us a fair bit. Ideally i think we could do with one more ball winner - Fletcher being the only really obvious one there.

Does Young play as attacking midfielder? Thought he plays more as second striker when he plays in the middle. Cleverley is more of a winger, so is Park. We need true central midfielders.

Btw I think Rooney did an excellent job when he played deep. He was like a new Scholes. I don't mind him occupying the AM/SS role but we do need solid midfielders behind him. Ideally 2 box to box midfielders, or 1 box to box + 1 defensive midfielder.

EDIT: I have lots of hope in Anderson too. Just like Nani, I confidentz his time will come.

Cleverley has played on the wing but he's definitely not more of a winger from what i've seen. He's been touted as a potential Scholes replacement for a while now. Young has played more centrally most of this season - for England and Villa. Hopefully Anderson will really prove his worth this season.

Hope Cleverley proves himself too. With Scholes, Hargreaves and probably Gibson gone, I think we need backup. 1 or 2 solid midfielders would be nice. Otherwise we will end up like in 2006 when we had to play O'Shea, Ferdinand, Rooney and Richardson in midfield at some point.

I'm not sure whether Cleverley would be ready to fill Scholes boots right now though. These are big boots to fill.

Checking on statistics, Young is the second best player on assists since 2007. Second to Cesc. Imagine the number and quality of crosses Chicharito will get from Young + Nani. :icon_spin:

Things are looking very good. we have a gem in hernandez, perfect stricker for our favored wing play. An lets not forget, Scholes is a full time couch now, looking forward to how andersons and cleverly's play progresses with scholes focused on teaching them.

So is Chicharito a final-flop kind of guy? He was huge in the CL and Gold Cup, in both he played in the final and wasn't that great...

They tend to put several defenders on him because they know he's the main threat. Its easy to neutralize him TBH. He's not strong as well and struggle against tough physical defenders. These are things he should improve on.

He had an assist and ran players off the wings the second half, which generated many opportunities. Obviously as a scorer, it could be looked down upon that he didn't score, but he didn't exactly play horribly.
