Kp4455965 probably doesnt like Welbeck because he is black. Can't see why you would think he was "terrible" in the first 3 games TBH. He wasn't that sharp in front of goal in the first 2 games for sure, but his link-up play with Rooney, Young and Nani was amazing. He didn't do anything wrong too. We have been playing quick attacking football with Rooney, Nani, Young, Wekbeck, Anderson and Cleverley. I love the football style we are developing with these new players. We never used to play like that before.

As much as I love Berbatov, I agree with Ferguson putting him on the bench for the moment. He is a great top class striker, but wouldn't work as well as Welbeck or Chicharito in that team. He would slow down the play. He might have scored more than Welbeck but the flow in attack wouldn't be as good. Same applies to Carrick.

Was joking about Welbeck being black part.

Btw, where is Owen? Is he injured again.

he's a fifth choice now.

Rooney
Chicharito
Welbeck
Berba
Owen

No probably 6th. Machedinho ahead of him.

Never thought Cleverley would've been that good... I have said in the past that he was 22 already and had no senior appearances for the club, so maybe he was not good enough thats why Fergie never played him. Didn't realize that he did not play because he spent the last 3 full seasons on loan.

Top guy. Certainly not Scholes though. He is a different type of player but very fast and efficient.

De Gea finally has a clean sheet but had some nervy moments. Evans-Jones pairing was amazing and Smalling great at RB. Evans has really improved this season. He has not made any of his stupid mistakes so far in preseason and the first few competitive games.

EDIT: Check this video about our daily training sessions:

Awesome video.

Watched a replay of the match:

- Van der Vaart lacked sharpness and was terrible today. It came down to who could play the AMC role better today, and Rooney did it best coming deep than VDV, who failed to communicate with Defoe (who simply refused to pass to him, almost), took stupid longshots when the game was still even and missed a boatload of passes.

Yes Van Der Vaart made some ridiculous long shots. He probably got instructions to shoot from far because De Gea has been having some difficulty dealing with long shots. Not only VDV, a lot of players tried long shots. Tott's tactics failed.

- Young was better than Nani. Young was brilliant. Young is a coup. Fact. I don't remember which one of you didn't want him, but surely Ashley's making you eat your words. Looks like he's been a part of the team for years.

I was one of the guys who did not understand why we would get Young when we had 2 awesome wingers already: Valencia and Nani. Now I totally understand it. Young is amazing. He is versatile, has quick feet and has a great understanding with Rooney. It seems that he has been in the team for very long. He adapted very quickly. Now I realize that Young was very underrated at Aston Villa.

Valencia is great, but is very inflexible and predictable. He can only play on the right side. We could see how ineffective he was against Barca.

C'mon.

It's good to see more participation from Anderson and Cleverly up front. I think Anderson will score more goals this season. I think +5 would be good for him.

It was a good start by Wayne, 2/2, very good so far. He looks sharp and ready like two years ago. (Btw Nady, why you have 2 Rooney in your goal count).

What do you guys think of possible formation against top teams and especially in away matches? current 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 of last previous seasons?

I've been praising Welbeck for at least a year, maybe 2 or 3. Glad to see the rest of you catching up (H)

I'm glad he played well but I'm not impressed by his performance.

I'm sick of this ******* negativity in this thread towards our youngsters. Ever heard of being supportive guys?

Your youngsters are **** and none of them will ever get capped for their respective national teams. Not like Thomas Muller :33vff3o:

This. Apparently Sir Alex is committed to what he said last season at the CL final, he loved the Barça way of doing things and said he would try to print a bit of that onto United.

The "fumble" was hardly a blunder either, he recovered well.

That fumble was inches away from being a huge blunder, he left the line and completely missed the ball. Had Defoe's shot gone in on that rebound, he would have been crushed by the press, it's dillusional to think otherwise

Manchester United have contacted Borussia Dortmund with a firm offer for midfield target Mario Gotze, according to German news source Bild.

Dortmund have long insisted that Gotze iss not for sale, no matter how big the fee offered, with CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke telling reporters: "All interested people are uninteresting to us. He remains at Borussia."

But Manchester United continue to be linked to the 19-year-old, who was touted by Franz Beckenbauer as the next Lionel Messi.

United were said to be making a swoop for Wesley Sneijder, but Sir Alex Ferguson sees Gotze as a cheaper option for a midfield signing, with the Germany international demanding far lower wages than Sneijder.

And with only one week left in the transfer window, United are reportedly making an offer in the hopes of completing their squad as soon as possible.

Gotze has made 39 appearances for Borussia Dortmund since coming through the German outfit’s youth program, and has scored seven goals. The star has drawn the attention of Real Madrid as well as Manchester United.

Oh boy.

I read a article saying Nasri is going to Man JOOOOO.

No, apparently he is more likely to join the ****ty side of Manchester :nape:

Who needs Nasri when we have Anderson + Cleverley? If these 2 play with the same hunger and form, we will do very well.

He's not "more likely". He's a Man City player.

And yes your midfield is looking very good. A certain Dutchman wouldn't hurt, though.
