Playing devil's advocate here but IF Ronaldo succumbs to Real (and you know they won't stop till he does) who would you like to see come in to the club on the right wing?

In the Premiership there is one name that springs instantly to mind : David Bentley, he is a different type of winger to Ronaldo, more in the Beckham mode - but would supply quality crosses all game long to Tevez and Rooney. In a perfect world I'd love to see Messi - I hadn't seen much of him before our Barca adventure but the kid is well worth the hype.

Also, I know the champagne still stains the Premiership trophy and the Red Tribe is marching on Moscow, but who else would you like to see in United red next season?

Personally I'd love to see United make a move for Gabby Agbonlahor, he's young, talented, quick and can find the net (and also he's an English lad too) Daniel Alves coming in on the right of defence would be amazing too, although Wes was outstanding this season and Gaz will be back there too.

None will be as good as Ronaldo, where on earth are we going to find another 40-goals plus player??? I hope we keep him for a few more years.

That would be the best time for him to leave from his point of view. Could quite easily make the case for needing a new challenge.

Personally, United would need to get somebody a bit better than Bentley, Agbonlahor or Alves, if they want a first team starter.

And like you all said, i guarantee you 99% that i could go out on google right now and find the exact same word for word, letter for letter Ronaldo quote from 6 month ago, 1 year ago, 1.5 years ago and 2 years ago. Its not about Real wanting a United star and usually getting him, its United selling their stars when they don't want them. And if the sale of Beckham was a bit unexpected because people just didn't think that when a regular starter gets benched by Ferguson he is likely not needed, then the sale of Ruud was absolute carbon-copy. If United want to keep a player, they will, no matter who is knocking on the door and for how long. Beckham and Ruud were kicked out of Old Trafford not stolen from it.

soccernet doesn't post bull****? What the **** are you smoking? Soccernet, just like Foxsportsworld.com get their **** from all British newspapers possible. Its the media business and that's the way you make money. Do any of you really think that soccernet has some sources straight from Britain that tell them ****? BIG L-O-L.

Cristiano Ronaldo reacted to the latest public declaration of interest from Real Madrid with nine words that will go down like a lead balloon at Manchester United. "Let's see what happens after the Champions League final," said Ronaldo as he was questioned about the possibility of a world-record transfer to the Bernabéu.

Ronaldo emphasised that he was "happy" at Old Trafford but there was a less than unequivocal response when it was put to him that the Real president, Ramón Calderón, was "obsessed" with signing him. "I am happy here but let's see what happens," he told the Spanish television network Antena 3. "I am feeling calm here. I'm happy but in the future I don't know. I know Real Madrid like how I play and I know that other teams in Spain like my game as well, so that's good. It is good to know that other clubs are interested in you. I have said millions of times that I would love to play in Spain."

He qualified that last statement by pointing out that "it's one thing to dream and another for it to be reality". He also emphasised, more than once, that he was enjoying life in Manchester. Nonetheless, Madrid are entitled to be encouraged that, deliberately or not, he chose not to confirm that he would still be at Old Trafford next season - and, indeed, that he should consider playing for Real a "dream".

"Real have the solvency and the financial power to be able to take on a signing of the magnitude of Cristiano Ronaldo," the club's general director, Miguel Angel Arroyo, has told the Spanish press.

Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be confident about persuading the winger to stay for at least one more season. The Scot, asked about the allegations from Chelsea's manager, Avram Grant, that United can "influence" referees, said: "I was half-expecting it. This is all about their preparations for the final. But we were, without question, the best team in the country this season and, in fairness, a lot of their players have recognised that."

Grant is to be charged with improper conduct by the Football Association after appearing to question the integrity of the referees Steve Bennett and Mike Dean. He claimed Bennett, officiating United's final game at Wigan on Sunday, had been "as expected: good for one team". Grant is most likely to receive a fine, though the FA does have the power to impose a touchline ban.

United, meanwhile, are negotiating a deal with Barcelona that will see the defender Gerard Piqué return to the club where he began his career.

So basically one site posted and the rest copied and you wasted your life finding them all and informing us of that in this thread. Good for you bro, good for you. I guess that's the only good thing Manchester City fan can hope for these days.

Simply put, only trust whats posted on the club's official website, thats what I do when I want real news.....
For a laugh just go visit tabloid fodder sites, but don't take them seriously....the tabloid sites are known to have misquoted players many times, in fact even more the amount of times than Pamela had surgery on her t.i.ts..........but just about....

Actually I've found soccernet to be quite dependable. They(and even the FOX soccer website) mostly report the same news that is found on BBC/Setanta/Uefa/Sky Sports....very occassionally they report something that is not (directly or indirectly) on any of those websites.

And frankly, Ronaldo (arguably best player in the world) saying what he said IS headline(lead story) worthy.
