No. Even if he was still in his prime, no.

Gattuso, on the other hand, I would welcome with open arms.

ya know, I know you Mancs are up in arms about the controversy with Ronaldo and Rooney, the wink, and the assorted other media crap, but this is a situation your club should be spinning to your advantage: Madrid and its yobo presidential candidates are all gobbing off about how they have a precontract with virtually everyone who can kick a football. Now, this Ronaldo situation blows up. I know Ronaldo is a valuable young player for you guys, but its not out of the question that you could, if you played things cool, get three times his original value from Madrid. That money could easily cover Mascherano, Ribery and patching any defensive holes, as well as buying carnival tickets for sir eck and Horsey so that they can have a nice evening out together and start going steady again

The alternative is obviously retaining Ronaldo and seeing him develop further. But Ronaldo like Jose Antonio Reyes and Arjen Robben are players who, in my estimation, will never reach their full potential playing in England. The brittle, trick employing, primmadonna winger is tailor made for Spain and their lightweight defenders. In England where the odd hardman can still clatter a lightweight and get away with it, players like these three hold back, and are held back as to what they can become. I would say Luis Garcia realized this already, but he's just sh it

Anyway, I dont think there will be a problem other than Rooney's feelings hurt, but since there seems to be no visible team rupture, and if he acquits well in the semis, you guys could rip Madrid for Ronaldo like a blind kid

It would be very interesting if Juventus and Milan do get relegated.
Alot of big names will be instantly available.
And since we havn't actually spent anything yet, we are in quite a strong position.

Wonder what Roman Abramovich's thinking considering he paid ****loads of money for Shevchenko when he could probably get him for free after the judgement in Italy. I bet Glazer would've had a fatal stroke if we did the same.

With regards to Ronaldo, I doubt Real Madrid will buy him. They are unlikely to get a player promised by another candidate. However I seriously wouldnt mind ripping them off and get some cash to buy players that fit our needs.

Agreed (Y) These type of players are most likely to excell in Spain or Italy, where the football is less physical and more technical..

If you guys think that players will be available cheap from Milan, Juve, then you are very wrong. They would probably want the maximum money out of their players imo to compensate for the financial loss they will experience if they get relegated. Dont expect free players :(

Realistically, I think that the players that we could land are Gatusso and probably Emerson.. No way we could get Vieira. That'll be too much of a controversy for what has happened in the past and Kaka would be far too expensive.

hey what do you guys think of vinni grella from parma, he did an excellent job for australia in the world cup of shutting down top players from japan, brazil and italy. he would be cheap.

also i just read on the manutd what the papers say section, an article saying ronaldo will never play for manutd again.
