Why not try to sign David Silva, he stated he wanted to go to United. You guys desperately need a creative midfielder.

I don't see anyone more than 20 millions coming TBH.

As for Scholes' replacement, I can't believe I forgot Anderson... Many people tend to forget that we have him as a potential Scholes successor. He's shown glimpses of his creative ability since coming here and he's only 22 so he'll get better. Ferguson is well known to put faith in youngsters.

So with the current players we have,

Rooney - Berbatov

Nani - Fletcher - Anderson - Valencia

Evra - Vidic - Ferdinand - Rafael

Van Der Sar

Alternatively,

Rooney
Nani------------Valencia

Anderson
Fletcher - Hargreaves

Evra - Vidic - Ferdinand - Rafael

Van Der Sar
Thats a class first team if you ask me. Only problem is that they can't be fit for the whole year. We badly need backups.

That's contradictory.

There is just a different feeling about this summer, then previous summers. Whenever we had clear problems with the squad, Ferguson would always go out and spend. Stam Yorke and Blomquist in 1998, Veron and RvN in 2001, Ferdinand in 2002, Rooney in 2004, Carrick in 2006, Nani, Hargreaves, Anderson in 2007, Berbatov in 2008. But this time there is a clear problem that is acknowledged by Ferguson himself and yet he still insists on keeping the squad the way it is. Giggs and Scholes will turn into a liability any week now

As Fergie said, we'll sign one more player because he feels "we deserve a good player". Thats his own words. Don't know why but I have a feeling its gonna be a surprise transfer. We've been heavily linked with Suarez lately.

This season what stood out for me was our wing play. Valencia showed his stuff in just his first season with us, it can only get better, Nani has developed very well, Park has always been useful, he loves scoring important goals for us. I have high hopes for Obertan aswell. He has been with us for a season now and we might see a lot more from him next season......

i heard all the same worries when we didnt replace RvN. or the old famous quote of "you cant win anything with kids!"

over the last season i have a hard time saying we were a weak team. the only things that stick out for me is we were unlucky. the 2 6-pointer games against chelsea where the winning goals should have been disallowed and the 1-in-million goal that bayern scored to take them past us through the UCL.

im with SAF on this one.

The Anderson issue has not been helped by Fergie playing him as a defensive midfielder. Hopefully next season he'll be unleashed as an attacking midfielder and then he can really show us what he can do.

You can't really say we've been that unlucky (I mean, we have benefited from 14 OGs I think). I reckon we probably need another wide player since Nani isn't reliable.
On top of that maybe another striker, since I'm just not a fan of Berbatov. I'd like to see him leave. He hasn't been delivering when it matters (misses against Blackburn and Chelsea late on) and he doesn't create enough space for our advancing central midfielders.

Hernandez need service from wingers, we won't see much of him during the WC if this is what Mexico has to offer. His movement around the box is good though....

Yeah they resorted to hopeful crosses in the second half. Reports that Real Madrid have snapped up another potential United target, Angel Di Maria - have started coming out (it did start on Goal.com though)

I don't think we were ever going to get Di Maria...besides, didn't City already put in a huge bid for him?
