Well, I am disappointed any time we drop points at all, especially if it's against anyone other than Chelsea, Arsenal or 'Pool.

In my mind we have no business dropping points to anyone in the Premiership except those 3 teams.

dude..i totally disagree. We dont have a divine right to win every game. Teams like aston villa, everton and spurs are are no push-overs.

About the game, the ref was just woeful. How does the premier league allow such refs to take charge of these games? disgraceful really.

The performance was terrific. Cant ask for more. Maybe if we had 11..we could have picked up all 3 points. Disappointed for nani though..he will miss the next 3 games.

well, one one hand I'm disappointed that Nani sent off while yellow card was enough (Young did a worse tackle on Valencia but nothing happened). I'm so tired of Refs decisions, I think we should accept that they are always against us. It was a good opportunity to grab top spot but thank to ref it didn't happen.

On the other side, I like the current character and spirit of our team. We played well and controlled the match with a man down against a good team like Villa. Our players gave their 100 percent, and that's enough.

Well said, with 10 men, Villa didn't create a decent chance except for Milner's shot on goal. I'm proud of the character which was shown yesterday. The pressure is even more on Chelsea now, they know that they almost blew there chance and that will start creeping in their minds.... I don't know why a lot of people are hyping up Chelsea, at home they are a great side, but their away form isn't that impressive, to say the least...

I think the tiredness is starting to tell, Chelsea are an aging side for the most part. The Nani decision was probably wrong, but players know they can't show their studs anymore (unless playing in a Mersey derby apparently)

It does seem that United aren't getting a good run of refereeing decisions at the moment, whether that's down to plain luck, poor officiating or even bias (either against Fergie's attacks - or United in general) I don't know.
The awful fact is that we can still look back at the non freekick at Chelsea, and say we should be top of the league right now. But to do so would drive us crazy :)

It certainly seems like United are always made an example of, but I can see why the ref sent Nani off on this occasion, Sir Alex said himself it was a naive challenge. Still apart from Arsenal still hanging in the title race, it turned out that the point was very useful.

Nani's lunge was def a red card by today's standards. It was a stupid and unnecessary tackle, so he shouldn't have anything to complain about.
If Chelsea had won, then it would have felt like 2 points dropped, however, I'm quite satisfied with the point.

Good night last night. We did well to keep in control of the game when down to ten against a good side. With Chelsea losing the gap is a point so its very much game on now. Got no complaints about Nani, seemed to get some of the ball but you can't lunge in like that any more.

Really looking forward to the champions league match with Milan now.

I am glad the first leg is in Italy, because we usually perform very well in 2nd legs at home...so if we can get a goal in Milan, I think we will be well poised to move on.

By the way, ESPN is reporting that Giggs fractured his arm and is out for a month.

That is a huge blow to our title chances.

Yeah, it looks like we will be making some changes at the front, considering Nani will be missing three games aswell. Park and Valencia on the wings I guess

Interesting read, but Gill won't have the arse to put out a statement like that in this present time.

Just stumbled across this. A 53 year old steward(has served United for 19 years) was sacked because he tried to return an anti-glazer banner back.

Yeah and he risks losing his own job making a statement like that. Few weeks ago he was backing the Glazers saying how cooperative and supportive they were.

That was posted here before. A real disgrace. I expect more things like that to happen with the protests getting more and more intense...

That's the problem with having a go at the Glazers. I hate them as much as anyone but they can just sell players, fire staff e.t.c and ban supporters from the ground. Got too much control of the club really.

I'm watching Milan match right now.

Fergie's in San Siro as well, he looks so concerned.

We don't have a good history against Milan. They beat us 3 times during last 4 matches.

I think Fergie's 4-5-1 will be effective against Milan. There are lots of space in their midfield area.

They had put on this banner for the game against Aston Villa:

Gill has been confronted by 2 United fans and they recorded the conversation. Article:

Gill was confronted after a question-and-answer session about football finances at Birmingham University and, to his intense discomfort, asked to justify the way he had opposed the Glazers' takeover as "overly aggressive" and "unmanageable" only to change his mind and start to criticise the fans' protests once the Americans had seized control of the club.

In an argument that was recorded by other members of the audience and has been passed to the Guardian, Gill was asked if he remembered his comment in 2004 that "debt is the road to ruin". The last official figure showed that the Glazers have accrued debts of £716m and have paid more than £260m in interest payments since the owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved into English football in 2005.

Asked to explain his volte face, Gill responded by saying it "depends on the context" but did not elaborate. It was put to him that he had changed his mind "overnight" and he replied tersely: "How could you tell when I changed my mind?"

United's supporters have made a point of exposing Gill for his U-turn and unveiled a banner during the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa on Wednesday to remind him of his pre-takeover quote. Gill confirmed he had seen it and explained: "Those were comments back in autumn [2004]... and then they changed, the model changed... If you read all the statements."

Pressed further, Gill said he had not resigned because "I've got 550 employees who work for me", and responded to more questions about the club's financial position by pointing out the success of Sir Alex Ferguson's team. "How many leagues have we won in the last three years?" he replied. Of the Glazers, he asked: "Why are they leeches?" The argument was eventually ended when security staff intervened.

Gill earned £1.83m in the year to June 2009, according to figures released last month, a 60% rise since 2006.
