Senior Squad
Starting XI:
GK: De Gea
DF: Evans, Rio, Vidic, Evra
MF: ---
FW: Rooney, Welbeck, van Persie, Hernandez, Kagawa, Berbatov

A creative solution to our lack of quality in the midfield! It's called "The False Spain".

In a three man midfield?

Kagawa, Rooney and Carrick/Scholes? VERY weird looking midfield. It can work but you would be losing Rooney's goal scoring touch. But in a way, we would be sacrificing his goalscoring touch for van Persie whose goalscoring touch is even better.

Haha yeah but it would be more likely to work with Kagawa as AMF and Cleverley/Carrick/Scholes taking the other CM slot. Rooney will drop back to help with defense.

I have a feeling this pic is photoshopped. I found it on the daily mail.

What number will RvP take? All numbers from 1 to 27 are taken except Gary's #2. We should've kept the #7 for him.

I think we'll actually be ok in CM. I'm not completely comfortable with it's longevity/flexibility. But we do have quite a few players that can/do play there.

Scholes, Carrick, Cleverley, Anderson, Giggs, (Fletcher)

and also Powell, Kagawa, Jones, Rooney

and i'd like to see Tunnicliffe to get a look in the cup.

not really a fan of van Persie's, but there's no denying he's a bit of a glamour signing ... so yeah, you guys should have kept the #7 for him ... I expect he'll go back to his kakkerlak roots and wear #32 ...

one gets the feeling that Srallex must be doubly satisfied about landing Robin, after failing to persuade Titi to make the same move ...

Its like you guys don't know Ferguson. A lot of you are thinking too narrow-minded. United has been rotating players in different positions all the time, Rooney has played RW, LW, AM, CF, ST etc before, RvP can play LW, CF, ST, all our players play multiple positions. And forget Rooney's goal scoring touch with Van Persie begins scoring goals.

Our most influential player that was instrumental in winning most of our games last season was Paul Scholes. Rooney can do exact same, nobody says that he has to score goals to be considered influential and everything else is useless.

Van Persie adds sooo many different attacking options now and apart from Rooney nobody else on the team can single-handedly carry everybody else. If we want to win the EPL, this was exactly the type of singing we needed. Modric would have been better, but he was unavailable, so RvP was our second best option.

And don't forget, everybody is fit now, but what will happen in a few months? I can recall only 2 seasons in the past 15 when we didn't have half the team out injuried at any point in the season.

Great singing for us, if you don't see it, you don't watch United play.

SG's van Bommel
SG is witnessing an historic moment. Lee actually wished for something AND IT HAPPENED! Who would've thought.

Did they decide his number, probably 9 and probably bye berba.

Btw, RVP is a winner, he can win matches on his own, great addition.

Midfield will be ok , If tom and ando stay fit.

Can't wait to see RVP, Rooney, Kagawa, Vidic and Bebe in action ;).

Great post, but his signing brings along some negatives although I think it has much more positives. Remember when we bought Berbatov? Tevez was dropped to the bench, was pissed off and decided to leave. Tevez was a special case though. He's a ****.

And I do trust Ferguson. He knows what he is doing and I'm sure he discussed with Rooney and Kagawa about any possible change in position if van Persie were to come. Can't wait for Monday!
