Even in that post where you plainly state that you are not insisting that Darmian is the new Lahm, and that it is just a "soundbite" that the stupid media is trotting out, you still have to get in at the end that "your rating of the player is the right one". What that last quote means is quite obvious: you agree with the bullshit media comparison.

When someone gets compared to Lahm I don't think "oh, his quality could be high or low, but he's definitely capable of playing on both sides!" No, I think "he is a world class FB". When someone gets compared to Schweinsteiger I don't think "he must be a winger who moved to MC" I just think "he must be a really good MC".
he's a right-footed FB, and comfortable on either flank ... that's as far as the Lahm comparisons go as far as I am concerned ...

in terms of quality, I think he's excellent (my rating of him) ... again, this should be pretty straightforward to understand ...

Lahm should have been nominated instead of Neuer for the Balloon Door and won it.

Paint skills off the chart.

Darmian will have his medical soon (Friday) and "Robin van Persie is to fly to Istanbul on Sunday and will be presented by Fenerbahce on Monday."

RvP should have stayed in the EPL or at least stay in the top 5 leagues.

In Turkey you can rape women so long as you buy them afterwards.

Otherwise he'd obviously go back to Arsenal and score 30 en route to a title win. [/nothingtodowiththedraft]

In all seriousness though, I think he gave up too quickly. Still had it in him to have 1-2 more good seasons with the right manager.

He still scored 10 goals in 24 games which is decent. If he played all games he could have scored 16 which is same as Benzema.

Depay will wear shirt # 26 - well known shirt wore by legends Kagawa, Obertan, Manucho, Phil Bardley, Danny Pugh, Mark Wilson and Massimo Taibi. Hope he lives up to the greatness of this shirt number.

He should have been given #11 though. Januzaj is an overrated diving pussy.

Agreed. Could have stayed at Man Utd even to fight for his place. They are definitely going to improve from an offensive point of view. His place in the NT is fine if that is what he is so worried about. Does anyone even come close?

Anyway, given his statistical records and evident talents, for his injuries and lack of silverware, he is a major waste of talent, isn't it?

I think he screwed up leaving Arsenal and in such a way, just when things were on the up. Pride comes before a fall.

If that's what he cared about he could sign for half the teams in the world. I'm sure 17 clubs in Spain, maybe around 15 in England, 20 in Serie A and 19 in Bundesliga would take him and give him at least solid minutes. Take 10 off the total and that number would make him a starter. He went to Turkey because they will come closest to pay his astronomical wages.

He will play in europe there as a certain starter..not many other clubs you can say that for

Yeah I think it's a smart move, failure on his part will be blamed on the club, lots of money (don't forget in Turkey he will pay zero tax), European football, title challenge, less scrutiny (so less chance of tainting his reputation) and if by some chance he does play great and injury problems don't interfere he can easily move again next summer and play for a top Italian club or something

I know but he has proven nothing for Holland and he had just 1 good season. Depends how he does this coming season.
