Making an image from scratch #2

Most of you probably remember the picture of Fat Mike which I created from scratch in photoshop. Well i've been meaning to do another one for a while but just haven't got around to doing it.
The next one i'm making is a pic of 2 guys from Good Charlotte. I think they suck and their music is gay but I'm doing this to put on a card for my friend's birthday. I showed her the Fat Mike picture I did and she really liked it so I thought I'd make one for her but of her favourite band.
I find it funny that I'm doing this but at the same time just bagging the crap out of Good Charlotte and their teeny bopper music. (H)

UPDATE: Finished the ground and made basic shape of the guy on the right.

Looks good.
Though, when you say "from scratch", do you mean using just brushes etc? or also clone tool and cutting and pasting bits from the original?
Either way, looks good...especially the texture of the arm.

When I mean 'From Scratch' I mean it's just all brushes. I 100% guarantee you that I don't do any copy and paste, clone etc. I use a grid as a guide to get all the positioning right but other than that I just look at the other picture and paint it in the new canvas with Photoshop's brushes. There's no cheating. (H)

:) Her birthday is on Feb 24 but I'm going to tell her I like her any day now.

But the picture isn't just for her. In the end it gives me more Photoshop experience, I don't really have to like whatever is in the picture but as long as it turns out good I'll be pleased.

Fat Mike is ace though. (H)

I also forgot to tell you all that you might need to press 'Refresh' on your browser for the pictures to update. So some of you who have come back to this thread might still be seeing the very first picture I posted.

Can everyone please post some more comments because I want to know if there's any things I need to fix or improve on.

From now on I think I might post a new picture for every update just to show each progression. But I'll only post a new picture if theres a major update just so I don't flood this page with pictures.
Anyway there's not that long to go now. (H)
