are there any kit makers who have any solutions to making kits using vista... the whole o-edit problem means i cant see if the kits fit the model properly.

I feel your pain... I just reinstalled XP on my machine because of things like that - but you could try the version mentioned above and see if it helps. It didn't work on W7RC for some reason I can't explain, but I hope it helps you!
