Uruguay
- 4 Time FIFA World Champions.
*FIFA officially recognizes 1924 and 1928 to be the first two World Championships, organized by FIFA using Olympic venues. Thus allowed the 4 stars on Uruguay's kit.
- 14 Copa Americas
- 1 FIFA Gold World title (1980) (Champions' World Cup)
- 8 Copa Libertadores de America
- 6 World Club Championships
- 2004 100 years anniversary, FIFA proclaimed Uruguay as one of the 6 most important football nations in history.

...3 million people.

The reason why Uruguay has such a strong international footballing team(compared to the small size of the country and it's population) is because of the huge export of players that come from the Uruguay leagues to the rest of the world. I think that there was a season(can't remember which it was, might've been the previous one) when 140(give or take) players from leagues in Uruguay was sold out to other leagues. Any country that can take so many players out and still keep the quality of the leagues has a huge bonus and that goes especially for Uruguay with their three million. Imagine if a country with a huge population like Brazil had that kind of a ratio... Of course, it would probably be impossible but still, just imagine it...
