Liverpool prepares for Tottenham next.

This is a team that has given us trouble in recent years. After our 2-1 thriller over Sunderland (or whoever the hell it was), we need a bit of a reset going into our game against Spurs.

It seems like our defense doesn't even want to try at times.

Well at least you've got Suarez and Sturridge to make up for that. Credit to midfielders as well of course.

This's also a team that got squatted 5-0 in their own backyard by Liverpool, earlier this season.

I don't mind pessimistic fans, but only ones who actually have a valid reason to feel so. You're the kind of guy who probably wasn't celebrating our Champions League win in 2005, and was instead wondering why we gave away 3 goals in the first half.

Yeah newbie should make a note of that. In the end of the season nobody remembers those narrow victories or goals conceded. Especially after finishing high up in the league table, or even better winning it, but i believe that's out of Liverpool's reach this season.

During summer you guys can bolster your defense. A bit more depth is needed i guess, and where on earth is Sakho? I don't watch many Liverpool matches, but i mostly check the starting lineups on matchdays, and the guy is nowhere to be seen (not that he'd be some kind of rock in at the back, it just caught my curiosity). Agger, Škrtel and even Touré have been the main men for you guys.

Sakho pulled a hammy (against Spurs at WHL, iirc) and hence endured a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Is fit to start now, and should, over Agger. Skrtel has been boss this season.

We need to bolster our fullback positions first and foremost. Flanagan is good, but nowhere near CL level standards to be our first choice LB next season. Johnson should be sold hopefully, and Cissokho should be sent back to Valencia, so a RB and an LB must be top priorities.

If we're persisting with the 442 diamond, I'd love something like this next season:

----------Suarez---------Sturridge--------
------------------Coutinho----------
---------Rakitic?----------Henderson------
------------------Gerrard---------------
Lulic?-----Sakho---------Skrtel-------Pisczek?
-------------------Mignolet--------------

Subs: Jones, Flanagan, Agger, Allen/Lucas, Suso, Sterling, new striker

Out: Aspas, Alberto, Enrique, Johnson, Reina, Borini, Cissokho, Moses, Kelly, Coates

I've only seen Flanagan once, but i thought he did pretty good against our average Manutd side. I believe he's quite young and looked full of confidence. Gave away 3 or 4 fouls though. Which weren't really necessary.

Pepe Reina? Back at Liverpool?

I do not see that happening. His pride has suffered a major blow.

He was the best GK and should never have been loaned out to Naples.

Anyways, on to current events - 4-0 win at home over Spurs. Daniel Sturridge does not get on the scoresheet. He is too up and down in terms of his form. He needs to be a more reliable backup for Suarez. Playing alongside Luis should help his numbers. We need a healthy and in form Daniel Sturridge for the CL next season.

As much as I hate saying it, Liverpool deserve it if they win it. I would hae it if it would happen. Liverpool has to play against City and Chelsea soon and City has 2 games in hand so they have huge obstacles ahead. I hope Terry lifts the trophy in the end.

If Liverpool end up winning it, big applause to Moyes for gifting them 6 points easily. 6 points to Liverpool would never have happened with Sir Alex or any other decent manager.

Two things:

1. Sturridge has 23 goals this season, and is the league's second top goalscorer, after.... wait for it.... Suarez!

2. Simon Mignolet is blatantly better than Pepe Reina at the moment that it's not even funny. Pepe Reina is a joke, and made his own bed flirting with Barca last season. He'll be history at Liverpool, come this summer.

every neutral wants to see this ...

Really? Neutral?

In that case, there are many on this list::read:
1. Michael Ballack - World cup
2. Pavel Nedved - CL in 2003, when he was arguably the best AM in the world
3. Jermaine Defoe - EPL
3. Ze Roberto - after all that time with Bayern, he never won a CL
4. Allan Shearer - CL - he conquered the EPL, but never amounted to anything in Europe
5. Michael Owen - CL
6. Roy Makaay - why was he never given a chance by the Dutch NT? He was about as close to Van Nistelrooy as anyone - maybe even Ronaldo(BRA).

Many neutrals can pick a list, that does not mean much since every league has a list.

EDIT: I would have picked Makaay ahead of Van Nistelrooy. The former was a team player, the latter was selfish and a cheater - think back to the Patrick Viera game at OT in 2003.

To be fair, I don't think Mignolet is massively better than Reina at the minute, but that's the thing, 'at the minute'. He's a lot younger than Reina and as you rightly said, Reina's head was elsewhere anyway.

Good bit of business.

Folks, Liverpool 3-2 Man City.

You thoughts on Raheem Sterling scoring while neither Luis Suarez nor Daniel Sturridge scored. The latter has really dried up and is terribly out of form.

Oh, and by the way, we d not have Jordan Henderson for the next 3 games.

Would have happily settled with that lucrative fourth spot at the start of the season. Now they've unnecessarily got my hopes up becoming genuine title contenders. 10 game winning streak, are you kidding me? Would be proper devastated if we bottle it from here.
