Great two wins over Chelsea, 2 dropped points against City. I'm liking how well we perform against the bigger teams (Spurs excluded), it's about time that we start performing like that against the other teams though.

the absence of Heidar Helguson proved helpful as we beat QPR this weekend, still sixth but hopefully the players are growing more confident going into the christmas traffic of games.

January transfer window is getting closer, what positions do you guys believe we should strengthen?

Personally I think we need another forward. Carroll isn't cutting it these days, and even if some people think we should give him time to adapt, the fact is that we need goals now. Suarez hasn't scored too many in the league, plus we might lose him for a few matches because of the whole FA charges thing...

Lucas is gone for the remainder of the season, we might need another DMC to fill that gap, a shame to lose such an important team member for this long though, first Gerrard now Lucas, never a good situation

Hmm, first thing I'll be doing is recalling Aquilani back from his loan spell at the San Siro. Without Lucas and Gerrard, I feel he's my third choice CM for I haven't been overly impressed with Adam and Henderson.

And most importantly, we need a quality finisher(s), two if possible, especially considering we've managed only 20 goals in the 17 matches we've played, and also for someone to act as a backup should Suarez face that ridiculous ban charged by the FA. FTR, I don't rate Carroll at all.

A lot of loan transfers have money involved where there is no recall option so most likely you'll be unable to get Aquilani back. There is plenty of good midfielders available and I think Aquilani and 'pool are done with one-another.

Yeah that's right. Which is why I feel Dalglish got it slightly wrong during the summer window.

For me, Aquilani + Meireles >>> Adam + Henderson

While he was right in his motive to sign British players, the first two were just wayy better than their counterpart British duo.

My Liverpool Season review until now:

Best player - Lucas Leiva
Worst player - Andy Carroll
Best Signing - Jose Enrique
Worst Signing - Stewart Downing (not doubting his class, just that he's been a massive let-off for us until now)

Individual categories:

Best Forward - Luis Suarez
Best Midfield - Lucas Leiva
Best Defender - Jose Enrique

Positives - our defending
Negatives - Spot kicks!
Best emerging player (should not be a regular starter) - Martin Kelly
Most declined player - Jamie Carragher
Best goal - Luis Suarez v Stoke City (1st goal) in Carling Cup's Round of 16
Best assist(s) - Bellamy's free kick and corner against Chelsea in the Carling Cup Qfs and Aston Villa in the EPL respectively.

How long does it take before Liverpool fans start to realize that 'King Kenny' may not be the best man for the job?

Yeah your record against us has been very good.

However, I do not think Kenny spent wisely wrt (that's your abbreviation from the other thread, I like it!) transfers and I am a little disappointed by your overall performance this season, I was genuinely expecting to see a Liverpool like the one of a few seasons ago, one that was challenging for Champions League places.

The thing is that we obviously need a new striker, someone who's a proven finisher.

Andy Carroll isn't there yet, and we either need to cut our losses with him, or give him time to improve, but that option requires that we have someone who can score goals in the team.

Luis Suarez didn't get any rest this summer, came straight from copa america into the starting line up, plus the recent 8 game ban he received is bound to be a factor on him mentally.

Dirk Kuyt hasn't been playing that much this season, and hasn't really been performing when given the chance, maybe in a few appearances yes but not overall.

the only striker I feel I could trust these days is Bellamy, but he can't do this on his own.

We need someone who can finish in front of the goal. Tired of seeing all these shots go to waste, plus we need to work on our penalty taking more. it's weird to have so many players that usually have a flawless PK record miss constantly this season

So the Carroll transfer is the worst transfer in history? You could argue Kaka`s is number one since it was for more but he drew a lot of attention and merchandising money. Torres` is similar to Carroll`s.

Pretty much what O-car said. Atleast one finisher plus a central midfielder to act as cover for Gerrard or even start with him.

Atmosphere great at Anfield. LFC suffer lack of quality in last third.

Not sure wha LFC will do eventualy but I wouldn't get a striker, a Miracleman. I would try to ask 4 more from all. Show you r a Lpool player

Couldn't agree more here.

Stuart Downing - 20 million pounds 20 appearances, 0 goals 0 assists. :(

8 dropped points against Sunderland, Wigan, Norwich and Blackburn at Anfield now. Absolutely sucks.

@Mandieta6: He can play until Jan 4th - when the deadline for his appeal ends and a final decision's made by the FA.

yeah, I like that you guys have gone the British route overall with the sporting choices (players and manager) ... I'd prefer it if more of the top Premiership teams do that ...

Henderson, Adam, Carroll, Suarez, Enrique, Downing - total cost around 110-120m. I mean, there are some good signings there for now and some good for the future, but weighed up as a whole was that really the best use of 120m pounds in the transfer market?

Totally agreed. Far off from being branded 'the best use of 120m pounds'. All those combined shouldn't have exceeded even 80m pounds tbh.
God, we really should have kept hold of Meireles and Aquilani.
