Liverpool 3-0 Manchester City, at Anfield

Andy Carroll with not one but TWO massive goals to get his Liverpool FC account going and a 3rd from Dirk Kuyt.

It's an 8 point deficit, that we're facing, with 6 games to go.

ANDY CARROLL...LIVERPOOL'S Number Nine!

Our 1st half was stunning. 3 goals and complete dominance of the opposition. We eased up in the 2nd half. Luis Suarez was great again. What a player that guy is!

We need to build on this performance.

So, it has been now made public (by Fenway Sports Group - John Henry and his band of merry men) that the New York Times has a stake in Liverpool Football Club. The New York Times Company owns a stake of 16.58% in the club.

They actually have invested in Fenway Sports Group......they likely view it as being a company that can make money. See the thing is that John Henry is smart enough to know that he will sell Liverpool FC AS SOON AS the price is high enough. He will profit significantly from the sale of Liverpool because he bought it for a bargain at 300 million. It is only a matter of time.

I can't see him being around in the long term.

Can you say Dubai SOS!

It's only a matter of time before Henry sells.

The only reason he bought the club was to make a profit by selling at a higher price at some later time.

He has no interest in the long-term future of the club. He won't be building a new stadium.

I don't understand why all these businessmen invest in football clubs. The competition gets more intense every year, prices for top talent increase by almost double digits, wages are at ridiculous amounts and yet everybody still wants a piece. The only good thing is that the sport is getting more exposure and revenues, but that's not increasing fast enough to cover the rises in the transfer market and wages, as team after team keeps reporting ****ty numbers. The only thing that makes this kind of investment attractive is that the billionaires picked up a new hobby to waste money on. You just gotta hope that your club with catch the eye of some billionaire sucker before they all realize that they draining their millions down the toilet will provide about the same return as owning a team.

The time to buy a football club was in the 80's when they were all cheap and players actually cared more about their playing time rather than their wages. The modern day economics of owning a football club are disastrous and yet we are told to believe that all this big businessmen are uber smart and know the best way to take care of money. People will spend months looking for the right home to buy at half a mill, but about an hour deciding which ventures and assets to invest millions of dollars in. I hope NYT goes bankrupt.

Bottom line is what matters not Revenue (which in itself has been consistently dropping for the last 5 years). That is not to say that I did any research, think NYT really ARE in danger of folding or even care a slight bit if they do. I was merely reacting to the stupidity of buying shares in a football club and thinking of it as an investment.

All of those shares are hardly substantial. Queen James' is purely a marketing tactic, then the NYT are long time associates of FSG/NESV. Both joined forces w/ them and probably had their stakes shifted or something.

1-1 with Arsenal at Emirates.

People are saying that it feels like a loss for Arsenal. Well, it feels like a loss for us as well. We're finished.....any lingering European hopes we might have had are finished.

Our away form this season has been AWFUL.

King Kenny Dalglish will end this season with better league record than Roy Hodgson at Liverpool FC even if we were to lose every game left.

So a 5-0 win over Birmingham....Maxi Rodriguez, the Argentine, with a hat-trick.

With Man City's win over Blackburn, we aren't in good shape though.

Anyways, a big win like this would have helped earlier in the season.

Haha. Awesome (H)

If it was the opposite, I would be doing the same thing. So, no, I can't complain.

I'm actually terrified of what Liverpool can do next season :(

Get rid of Joe Cole and you may have yourself a contender for the title next season. ;) At least we know that Dalglish is capable of winning trophies so there won't be any worries about the coach.

Yeah i'm completely ****ting my pants over here over Liverpool's potential next season. A double is guaranteed at the very least. Treble i'd say is a base case scenario.

1. It appears that Kenny Dalglish is going to get the coaching job full time. I would have wanted Rafa or someone else.

2. Andy CArroll hasn';t done sh*t for us. He scored 2 goals in one game......THAT IS IT! His performnances have been a real disappointment, according to me.
