With 3 automatic CL spots this year, I can see us losing our motivation, falling off and drawing 0-0 with Newcastle. Shearer will throw 10 guys behind the ball and defend all game long. We really have nothing to play for at this time.

Well, psychologically finishing 2nd is better than 3rd when it comes to believing the league can be won next season. There is also the small matter of increased prize money......and Liverpool need that!

Way too early to say that. We're at a point where everything is possible. Both teams are playing very well and don't forget that we're still in the Champions league. So there are more games to be played than you guys and this could affect the team fatigue. Besides, we've got tougher games ahead. I'm very confident since we're in a very good position, but you never know. The end of season could prove to be dramatic.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that Shifty Agger has signed a contract extension until 2014. He's 24 and will hopefully crack the starting XI next season at Jamie Carragher's expense. Next step: ensure that Xabi Alonso stays.

EDIT: I think we should try Agger at DM to see how versatile he is.

Sometimes, I am not on for a long period of time. I'm guessing that at those times, they are. It's hard to tell. I'm not keeping track of their comings and goings. I see them in other sections..SG Player's Lounge, etc.etc. Just because they don't post regularly in the Football Forum, doesn't mean they're not active.

Not only are Man United on the verge of equaling our number of League titles, but they now take one more step towards our haul of CL titles. And with Fergus apparently planing to stick around for another 2-3 more seasons, they don't like slowing down.

I hate manure too... but they will only be successful if we don´t win trophies... and for that we need to improve our way of playing against (weaker) teams like Hull, Boro, Stoke,... if we have won those games the Premier League title would have been ours.
