Kitserver 7

I can't even imagine PES without kitserver. It was the one thing I was always waiting after installing PES in my machine. You even pushed me to start studying IT (I'm starting this year).

Thanks for everything Juce!! I hope Robbie will continue this project!!

hey Juce thanks for kitserver it really makes editing pes alot easier and faster, and overall makes the game better

now, 7.1.0 being the end of it?
does that mean there won't be any faceserver, ballserver, etc, this year?
or will Robbie still work on it?

yes, i'm afraid, it does.

Robbie, as far as i know, is currently very busy with his studies and work, and also he was very disappointed with online experience with PES2008, so i'm not sure if he continues with kitserver for this version of the game... But this is just speculation, so i'll let him speak for himself.

i've got one last treat for you guys.

it's an experimental module for kitserver, and it will be included in the 7.1.0 release. The module is called afs2fs, and basically it simplifies installation of patches, because instead of inserting BINs into AFS-files, and often having to rebuild the entire AFS, you just put the bins into a folder, and that's it.

One of the guys on our Russian forums came up with the idea, and i thought this was a really good idea, and implemented it, so that's how the new module came into existence.

It's an excellent idea, I've been hoping for a way of putting BIN's in the folders on the hard disk than within the AFS/IMG file using AFSExplorer or GGS. :)

yeah, it just feels like, the kitserver project has run its course. Maybe i shouldn't have started with version 7 at all... In any case, the "official" (non-beta") 7.1.0 version will still be released (hopefully soon), and that will likely be the end of it. I've no regrets though. It's been a wonderful experience: every year the game needed a tweak here and there, and it was very interesting to dig into it and solve the little puzzles.

Thanx....you and the whole kitserver team should try applying to Konami....seriously (Y)

m sure seabass will be impressed by your work if he isnt aware already !

cheers

I'm quite busy indeed, i come home not before 18:30 and then i just want to relax from the day. So that's the one thing, i don't really have much time. But as juce already mentioned, the online mode - and also the whole game - was somehow disappointing in my opinion. At least i haven't played a match for 2 months now... all the new features of kitserver where added by juce.

This opinion *might* change, maybe the Euro 2008 creates the wish to play a soccer game again. Or later, when the demo of PES2009 comes out, and i just say "wow", because they improved the game so much.

Anyway, i have no plans to continue kitserver at the moment. It definitly was and is a very important and good experience, and i think i learned lots of things from juce. Also thanks to all those who supported us and patiently helped us to fix bugs.

Btw, i see no need to apply for a job at Konami. I study now, and it's a special kind of studies: First you go to university for three months, the next three months you work at your company, then university again and so on (for 3 years in total). And through all that time you get paid by your company, which is a large company for business software in my case. So i'm very happy with that. ;)

Greetings to Juce and Robbie, it is a pity the news but each person is responsible to live his life to maximum pleasure.
I ask only as a favour to Juce if they may be able to put the option of having more players as changes in the kitserver 6, as in the master league changes were made until 6 players, is a request not like I hope to take the best.
Well thanks and if nuisance ignore this post.
Greetings and thanks for everything.
Sorry but I am from Colombia and write in English thanks to google translator jejeje.

hello guys, I have a question. The kitserver is really dead? why don't you post the code, like in a open-source project?:-paul:

I wouldn't say the kitserver project is completely dead, more like "dormant", and I totally understand where juce and Robbie are coming from, PES2008 has been a major disappointment and many editors from the PES community just don't see the sense of achievement in editing the game no more. I wouldn't rule out a return of kitserver if Nokami really make a drastic improvement next year with PES2009, and perhaps get the editing community back in the mood once again, but with Nokami's recent reputation it is a bit of a long shot.

Anyhow I'm sure juce mentioned elsewhere that there's no plans to make kitserver an open-source project, something to do with the code if I recall, he may well comfirm something in this thread with regards to that.

Besides I'm starting to enjoy PES6 again with kitserver 6, possibly the best ever version of the kitserver project in my opinion... now if only to get those double-sized fonts & numbers from PES2008 to work in PES6 I'd be landed (never gonna happen though! :junior:)

Major problems with PES 2008 EXE + Kitserver

Hi Guys,

First of all I've had a wonderful expriance w/kitserver before but now since Konami messed over PES 2008 it has been a nightmare,

I just got a copy of PES 08 from Playasia.com the Asian version for the PC but it is in English, Konami didn't make the PC version for the US this year, so when I patch the game with the Konami v1.1 or v1.2 patch and click on the desktop icon to play the game, it says the game is not installed, and when I try to install Kitserver I get "the PES 2008.exe is an unknown EXE file" so it wont work, but when I put either of the Konami patches in the game and go back to the kitserver and try to install it, kitserver installs in both settings and the exe, but after that I click on the desktop icon, it says "PES 2008 not loaded", all after I tested the game right after I put it in, but before I put the patch in, and it worked, I really could use some help here.....:icon_spin:

the kitserver for pes2008 pc ONLY works for Non-patch pes6.exe, I think. So that explains why it works with the game before you applied the patch, not after.

Let me try to understand you, now you are trying to say that the Kitserver for PES08 PC ONLY works for non-patched PES 2008?

And what I did was put a fresh install of my PES08 in, then I play it, then I put kitserver in, click install, Kitserver installs in the settings, but not in the PES08 EXE, I get "the PES 2008.exe is an unknown EXE file" so it wont apply itself, the game itself before trying to install Kitserver is NOT patched, and after I patch the game I get an error message saying "Pro Evolution 2008 is not installed"

Also when I try to put the Patch in using the auto-installer I get the 1628 error message "installation failed"

Thoughts....

non-patched pes6.exe, I mean the pes6.exe from the disc and if you have the game patched using patches from konami, it might not work with kitserver.
