Kit Numbers CM16

I have imported a new kit using CM16 and I am trying to change the colour of the numbers for the shorts but no matter what I do it doesn't change in game.

So for example I doing Borussia Dortmund and I want the shorts number to be white.

I have tried just changing the colour using the colour selector provided.
I have tried getting a white number image from another kit and importing it.
I have also deleted anything that was previously there.
Also I have regenerated and reset the squads everytime.

Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious?
