Kerlon dribble question

yoyo913

Team Captain
FM God? Maybe in the MLS.
That was actually the most effective I've seen a seal run, he took it quite far past a few players. He should have tried controlling the ball before "crossing it". BTW the other team sucks.

Kerlon is a douchebag in my opinion.

Why?

Hmmm, yeah... brilliant from the defender... he showed that he had no means to stop Kerlon without resorting to a clattering... and got red carded afterwards

and don't come with that "he did that because Kerlon is a douchebag" crap... if the defender could legally take the ball from Kerlon, he would do it... but the way i see it, he just couldn't and he knew it... and that's irritating, of course... i know it very well, because sometimes i do play against some skilful players, and they are very irritating because they make it very hard for any defender to tackle them legally and take the ball away from them... but hey, that's life man... sometimes we just get owned, and we have to know how to deal with it, otherwise we can get ourselves into some serious mess...

Kerlon can never play in Europe, because guys like Vidic and Materazzi would end his career. Legally.

... or maybe not! Don't forget that nowadays there are cameras everywhere, and even if the refs don't notice the cruelty in the moment of the tackle, that will be reviewed later on, and some actions will be taken towards the defender... maybe a very long suspension...

Anyway, if a player can't keep his cool, then he better not play against skilful opposition... because he'll get pissed, owned, and prolly red carded...

Starting XI
Micah Richards could probably leap high enough to take possession away from Kerlon with his feet.

Man Utd have been linked with Kerlon recently by the way. I'm not too sure about him though. There is more to him than just this trick. At his age group he is a prolific goal scorer for his national team. But innovation in the football world shouldn't be hated on like it is with this kid. He's trying something new. Leave him alone :p

Yeah... and that's because Richards is world class, and is not an idiot, unlike that defender who clattered Kerlon, and who some people call 'brilliant'...

All it takes is for a tall, strong defender to step in front of him while he's looking up at the ball for him to run straight into them and fall straight on his arse... that's hardly cruel is it?

The Braaten video is impressive as he's just done it spur of the moment, whereas with Kerlon he seems like a complete one-trick pony. In my view, the guy needs to be (legally) taught a lesson with a couple of hard (legal) challenges from someone like Vidic or Materazzi. If only the likes of Roy Keane, Tony Adams or Martin Keown were still around...

That's actually not cruel at all, and only in some rare cases that would represent a career-ending injury to Kerlon... but that defender lacked the necessary agility and timing to stop a player like Kerlon... and that got him irritated, because no one likes to be owned like that... but only the idiots react like he did....

My point: he clattered Kerlon, not because Kerlon was being a douchebag, but because he got irritated and picked a little fight for no sensible reason... and there's a name for that: 'incompetence and unprofessional behaviour'...
For some people, the guy was brilliant and he did what every defender should do in the same situation, because Kerlon was asking for it... for me, he was just incompetent and the only douchebag in this particular incident....

There is no way to steal the ball from him without a foul. This play should be disallowed. The same way you can't keep a grip on the ball with your legs.

Seeing as he's running along looking upwards to the sky, a good old legal shoulder barge should do the trick, yeap.
