Can anyone give me some advice on running my tournament. Im thinking..... hire a hall £60 for 5 hours with alcoholic bar with snacks, two bouncers £15 an hour (just incase anyone gets a bit pissed off that they lose) Would be like 32 players max, would play first round on 5 mins, would use 2 ps2's and 2 PC's with superpatch, obviously the latter rounds would be PC only, with PS2 adapters and ps2 controls. Would charge £5 entry, £200 prize money, under 16's £3, £130 prize money.

anyway thats what ive thought of so far, does anyone with any experience of running a tournament have any tips for me, as i want it to run as smoothly as possible, and dont wanna waste my money if theres gonna be unforseen problems that i havent contemplated. input would be much appreciated. thanks

Firstly I wouldn't recommend 5 minute matches as they do not involve much skill (be first to score and then hang on to the lead) as it may upset some people. I doubt you'll need bouncers but I don't know your area so :bob:

You should get in touch with calculus who organises the London PESTAL tournaments.
Here are the details for the next tournament, may be worth coming down to check it out. Or just email/phone him.

Calculus.

He's a friend of mine and I'm sure you can get some good info from him. Good luck with your tournament. If you advertise it over here there'll be quite a lot of interest.
