Referee makes Inter spy claims
By Nadia Carminati - Created on 25 Sep 2006

Internazionale are set to be investigated after allegations of spying on referee Massimo De Santis in 2002.

The Italian Federation (FIGC) are set to open an inquiry into the claims made by the official, who is currently serving a four-year ban for his involvement in the match-fixing scandal which broke this summer.

Outside the footballing world the manager of Italy's Telecom company Marco Tronchetti Provera quit in the wake of a phone tapping scandal, but remains a member of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza's management.

De Santis has accused the club and in particular supremo Massimo Moratti of hiring a private investigator to tap his phone, along with his wife's and former Nerazzurri frontman Christian Vieri, while Moratti wholeheartedly rejects the charges.

"It's absolutely groundless. Inter aren't involved," Moratti insisted.

"I think they are really serious because you can't ignore the damage he is causing by making these statements."

Inter would be in line for a fine though if found to be in breach of the first article of the sport's code of justice.

yeah but it's not Juve so it might be forgotten.
The Telecom scandal also includes political issues not involving sports teams. They also suspect that a guy who commited "suicided" was not infact "suicide" but they wacked him because he knew too much. :o

About the honest club, look at the board of Telecom and Inter. They'll have to add Guido Rossi to the telecom presidency.

Guido Rossi ---> New Telecom President, ex-Inter board, ex-Italian Federation commissioner(Calciopoli Scandal).
Massimo Moratti---> Inter owner, Telecom board.
Marco Tronchetti-Provera---> Ex-Telecom Prez, Inter shareholder, Good friend of Moratti.
Carlo Orazio Buora---> Telecom board, Inter Vice-President, Pirelli Manging Director(Inter main sponsor).

Yup, that's how pathetic Inter is. And to think you actually celebrated the paperdetto. I do hope something comes out of this, It has been too obvious for too long.

wow, some of you act like Juventus is the flag-bearer of justice and fairness in football... still i cant disagree with all of you, the inner workings of italian football are a disgrace, and i think its just a matter of time, before more **** comes floating.

a bit of news though, Zebina confirmed that he had an offer from Real Madrid, but he turned it down because he made a promise to Juve. now, i dont know, which side can be sadder here, Real, because we actually made an offer for him, or Juve, because he turned it down...

Making an offer for him is painful, but then getting rejected by him too... man , awful :p

Oh well, I don't mind him at Juve this season. He's a decent option for RB. Birindelli can be shaky, and Balzaretti isnt at his best on the right either.
