Benitez move is now out of the question. Didn't want him here anyway. I would prefer a no-nonsense tactician to straighten out this pathetic team. Someone like Capello, or, dare I say it, Trapattoni.

Also, I would think our transfer targets are going to be dictated by which one of Palermo or Sampdoria misses out on the Champion's League. Kjaer if Palermo miss out, Pazzini if Samp miss out.

Pazzini is excellent, though I don't know how much difference he will make if your supply line can't deliver ...

Kjær is on his way to the top ... and superlative central defenders always have a part to play ... but signing him will take a fairly heavy transfer fee, especially when you consider that you will likely have competition for him if Palermo decide to accept bids ...

Palermo have a lot of young talent ... apart from Simon Kjær, there's Pastore, Cavani, and Sirigu, who are all young, and from the top draw ... and lately Abel Hernández has shown his worth ... then players like Cassani, Balzaretti, and even Nocerino, are all useful ... and of there is of course the pocket-sized magician Miccoli ... they would all be worth considering, but it goes without saying that the young'uns will be the best investment ...

Samp's truly quality individuals are only Cassano, Pazzini, and Palombo, while Andrea Poli has a lot of potential ... (Storari has been on form, but you don't really expect it to last ...)

haha, Marotta, Del Neri, and soon Pazzini and Cassano? (H)

so I guess calcio needs Napoli to overcome Samp, so that Palermo make the Champions League (instead of Samp, who really were a longshot in the qualis anyway), and thus ensure Italy's coefficient doesn't drop any further ...

and of course you guys will be back in the big time next season (2011/12) to keep that coefficient up ...

Complete the Raid of Sampdoria and get Palombo too. Just hijack all their best players, recipe for success.

Zaccheroni Blast Juve Players

"Alberto Zaccheroni has regrets over his Juventus reign, but points out “none of the players had a good season.”

The Bianconeri will finish the campaign in seventh place and enter the Europa League via the preliminary round, regardless of tonight’s result against Milan – a game you can watch LIVE on ESPN.

“There are regrets that I was unable to improve the situation in the table,” confessed Zac, who replaced Ciro Ferrara earlier this year.

“I hoped to find fewer difficulties. A Coach is only as good as the choices he can make, but unfortunately I rarely had choice because of the number of injuries.

“Naturally, if we had faced Siena, Fulham, Sampdoria and Napoli with a full squad, it would’ve been very different.”

However, Zac doesn’t just pin the blame on the lack of players, but also those who did take to the field.

“It’s difficult to begin again, as this is a team sport and not one of the players had a good season. If the club asks my opinion, I’ll give it to them, but I didn’t see any players who salvaged their season.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Well, Zac, you didn't have a particularly good season either, even though you are correct in your assertion that our players, except for maybe Chiellini, didn't have a good season. Zac's lack of motivational skills and tactical choices would make Ferrara look competent. He wasn't even any better than Ferrara, who left the team in 7th place. Can't believe this donkey has won a Serie A title.
