"What Carew does with a football, I can do with an orange" - Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

I can bet in the next few weeks he's going to try that trick in the Serie A and all but to no avail and all the Juve fans get on his back again for being selfish (H)

Capello leaving Juve for Real? Dear God know, he'd be stoned alive if he brought his boring defensive tactics to Madrid. But I bet he'd change his tactics to accomodate the players he would have. Even so I definately doubt it.

He already won La Liga with Real in chase you weren't borne back than.

Del Piero proud of record

Alessandro Del Piero admits he was proud to equal the record for Juventus' all-time leading scorer.

The Italy international grabbed the only goal during his side's 1-0 victory over Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.

It was Del Piero's 179th strike for the Bianconeri and puts him level with Giampiero Boniperti in the Juventus hall of fame.

Del Piero, who has had his critics over the past couple of seasons, was honoured to be talked of in the same breath as Boniperti.

"Having drawn level with a player, who in Juve's history is probably the most decorated, is a reason for big pride for me," beamed Del Piero.

Juve's lacklustre success over Brugge secured the Italian giants' place in the next round of the Champions League, with Del Piero feeling the exertions of the 4-1 Serie A win over Roma played a part.

He added: "The fault for this not so sparkling performance is probably in the tiredness we had from Saturday.

"Then Brugge came here to close themselves in defence. It wasn't easy, we needed a lot of patience, but in the end we won."

guys just 2 for the record.

this weekend will see juventus and treviso play eachother for the first time ever in serie a history. and

del piero has achieved 179 goals at a faster rate than boniperti.

Giampiero Boniperti: 560 games - 179 goals (0.319 goals a game)
Alessandro Del Piero: 551 games - 179 goals (0.324 goals a game)

this can be level if ale doesnt score in the next 9 games. so we will see what happens. i mean i am unsure as to whether giampiero scored his 179th in his final game. if so then ale would have beaten his record by rate.

Moggi has Ronaldinho doubts
Thursday 24 November, 2005
Juventus transfer chief Luciano Moggi believes Ronaldinho would struggle in Italy, as well as admitting he was keen on signing Samuel Eto'o in the past.

Brazilian sensation Ronaldinho has been associated with a switch to the peninsula, but Moggi believes his Barca teammate would be a better acquisition.

"I think that the Brazilian would find it tough over here," the Bianconeri general director stated.

"I prefer Eto’o, a player who I wanted to buy while he was at Mallorca. The problem was that he was owned by Real Madrid and they didn’t want to sell him."

Both men are key figures at the Nou Camp, a fact underlined by their win at Real Madrid last weekend when the pair netted in the Spanish capital.

Ronaldinho, associated with Milan and Juventus recently, is expected to be named as the European Footballer of the Year later this month.

Chivu: "I'd love to play for Capello one day."

Roma defender Cristian Chivu has fuelled talk of a move to Juventus by claiming he wants to work with boss Fabio Capello again.

Giallorossi captain Francesco Totti stated last week that he would never wish to be coached by the tactician again, but Chivu has great respect for the Italian.

"Totti’s words? It is hard for me to mirror them," Chivu told Sky Italia. "Capello brought me to Italy and I would like to team up with him again.

"I must thank him because the fact that I am here is also down to him. When it comes to Capello, all you have to do is look at the number of League titles he has won."

Today’s comments will undoubtedly lead to speculation that a move to Turin at the end of the season is on the cards.

However, the Romanian international has committed his immediate future to the Stadio Olimpico outfit.

"I am at Roma for now and I still have two and a half years left on my contract in Rome," he added.

"You never know what will happen in football, even if it doesn’t always come down to the desire of a player.

"A contract extension? The club must make their move first, then we will have to wait and see what happens."

Chivu moved to Serie A three years ago after they beat Inter and a host of other clubs for the then Ajax stopper.

Chivu, who can play in the centre or at left-back, has also been heavily linked with a move to Milan recently.

Sagnol close to decision
Thursday 24 November, 2005
Bayern Munich right-back Willy Sagnol, linked with a move to Juventus, says he will make an announcement on his future within the next two weeks.

The France international's current contract with the Bundesliga giants expires in June 2006 and Juve appear to be first in the queue to secure his services, with Manchester United and Valencia also interested.

"I will announce my decision in a week or two. There is obviously a strong link with one club," he declared, although he did not specify which team he meant.

The Italian champions seem to be hot favourites to sign the 28-year-old, though, after Bayern general director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently expressed his fear that the Serie A leaders could lure him away.

And, at the start of this week, Juve director general Luciano Moggi made it clear his club hope to snare the former Monaco defender.

"Sagnol is an excellent defender, one who interests us. However, we still haven’t signed him yet," he said.

I think someone like Ronaldinho would fit in anywhere. He's so talented that he would have played good anyway.

Secondly, I doubt he will leave Barcelona in the near future, unless something would happen within the club between him and the bosses which is not likely. Barcelona will do just about anything to keep him in the club. That's my opinion though

Exclusive: Vieira enjoying new role
Friday 25 November, 2005
Patrick Vieira believes his summer move from Arsenal to Juventus has revitalised him as a player.

The Frenchman has really shined on his return to Serie A and he puts that down to a slight change in his use on the field of play.

"Here at Juventus, my position is very different," Vieira exclusively told Channel4.com’s Football Italia.

"Emerson is the more defensive player and I’ve had more licence to move forward, which I prefer."

The former Arsenal captain, who left Highbury for £14m in a shock move, has taken advantage of his licence to attack by netting some important goals.

"The amount of goals I’ve scored have been a pleasant feature of my game, it’s nice because it’s not been my target as a player," he added.

"The way we play really suits me. Our strikers are also all very good at dealing with the ball and at creating room for us midfielders to come from behind."

Vieira joined the Turin giants at the specific request of boss Fabio Capello, a man who coached him during his brief spell at Milan in 1996.

"He hasn’t changed at all," added the 29-year-old. "He still has that same desire to win and same passion for the game which makes him a great Coach.

"My time at Milan? Having some knowledge of the Italian game before has been an advantage, although it’s a long time ago and my spell at Arsenal obviously shaped me more as a player and a person."

Vieira came up against his former club a few weeks ago when the Rossoneri collected a comprehensive 3-1 win. However, the international insists they are not the finest side his Bianconeri have faced so far.

"The best team has probably been Bayern Munich in the Champions League. At least, they have been the toughest matches," he argued.

Nevertheless, Milan – currently five points behind Juventus in the League – remain the Old Lady’s biggest threat in Italy, even if Vieira fears that city rivals Inter have a Scudetto chance.

"The season is very long and I think that there is still a lot of time for Inter to catch up," Vieira noted.

The full exclusive interview with the Juventus dynamo is in December's issue of Calcio Italia.

Capello issues Real threat
Friday 25 November, 2005
Fabio Capello has opened the door for a possible return to Real Madrid, by saying that his future depends on whether certain individuals remain at Juventus.

Capello laughed off suggestions of a move back to the Spanish giants earlier in the week, by repeating his theory that a Coach should never go back to his old club.

However, he has since suggested that a move to Real is not out of the question and that his future in Turin depends on that of the Juventus ‘Triade’.

The ‘Triade’ are the three power brokers who effectively run the club – director of finance Antonio Giraudo, general director Luciano Moggi and Vice-President Roberto Bettega.

Giraudo’s financial expertise has turned the Bianconeri into one of the most profitable football clubs in the world, Moggi is probably the most powerful transfer fixer in Europe and former Italy star Bettega is an important figurehead who reflects the club’s ongoing success.

After 12 successful years at the helm, there is now talk that the 'Triade' may be about to break up. Giraudo has been linked with a move to Milan, while it has been suggested Moggi may join Roma seeing as both their contracts expire in 2006.

Capello attributes a large part of his Juve’s current success to his working relationship with the trio and has suggested that if they go, then he will go too.

"My relationship with Moggi, Bettega and Giraudo is special," he said in an interview with La Stampa.

"We have always respected each other and with time this respect has become friendship. If they left then I would have to reflect long and hard about my future."

This is Capello’s most forthright interview yet concerning his future and the inner workings of Italy’s most successful club. The suggestion that he might yet return to Real Madrid is sure to set the alarm bells ringing within the corridors of the Stadio Delle Alpi.

"Returning to an old club as Coach is a mistake," added Don Fabio. "When I returned to Milan in 1997 it went badly.

"But a switch to Madrid would be different because everything there has changed - from the club to the players. Only Guti, Roberto Carlos and Raul are still there from when I was in charge."

I hope Capello won't go to Real Madrid because Juventus are playing really good and he could certainly help us to win the title and the Champions League. I hope he remains at Juventus cause we need him. :ewan:

Ibra: I love Juventus!
Saturday 26 November, 2005
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has praised Juventus as the side that represents “the pinnacle of my career” and claims he’ll stay in Turin for many years.

“This truly is the pinnacle of my career,” the Swede told Sky Italia. “By wearing the Bianconeri jersey, I have arrived in the football world. I think it’ll be my final club, as I want to stay here forever.”

Fabio Capello had already tried to sign the Ajax player while he was at Roma, but the two finally managed to work together when both joined Juventus in the summer of 2004.

He made an immediate impact, scoring 16 goals in 35 Serie A appearances on his way to the Scudetto and at the weekend brought the Stadio Olimpico to its feet with a sublime individual effort in the 4-1 win over Roma.

“Juventus is one of the biggest clubs in the world, perhaps even the most important. They are the best of the best. For a Bianconeri player, it’s the same sensation as wearing the shirt of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United. No other side compares.”

Ibrahimovic’s contract expires in 2008, but there are strong reports he is in advanced negotiations for an extension to June 2010.

He also impressed the local fans by giving interviews in Italian and mouthing ‘Mamma mia!’ when he scored that fantastic goal against Roma.

“It’s something the Juventus players tend to say when they’ve either done or seen a wonderful piece of football, so the foreigners wanted to join in with that,” smiled the Swede.

Ibrahimovic was suspended for the Champions League victory over Club Brugge, but he’ll start against Treviso on Sunday alongside either Alessandro Del Piero or David Trezeguet. Lilian Thuram and Patrick Vieira are suspended, to be replaced by Robert Kovac and Giuliano Giannichedda.

Great article there, if Zlatan respects his promise then he really is a god. By the way, did you guys know that we still got the best defence in Serie A? We've conceeded only 6 goals, while Milan got 12. Even Inter has a better defence than them :ewan:.

Nah, my mate reckons one day he showed up at Juve training and got a job, then worked his way up.

Or then again, some say Moggi does not even exist.

Before he came to Juve in 1994 he used to be the general director of Torino, Napoli, Lazio and Roma. So I guess his whole career is in the football world. He was btw Napoli's general director in the glorious Maradona period. (H)
