Just as bad as the rest of the Fifa titles..

After several nights of playing FIFA Street, I realized my first impressions of FIFA Street are the same as my final ones, only now that I've played 15 hours of it I'm somewhat bitter. EA's new BIG Street game is one that's so far removed from the actual game of soccer it's pathetic. If you watch soccer or have ever played Winning Eleven 8 and then go directly to FIFA Street, you'll wonder what the hell you're supposed to do. The game doesn't work like a proper soccer game in any sense of the word. Sure, it's designed as an indoor soccer game, a three-on-three, fast-circuit, fast-action street game, from the streets of Brazil or whatever, and in a sense, that could be cool. But the final conclusion here is that it plays like a badly grafted NBA Street game on a soccer pitch.

Well you really cant compare it to WE8 seeing how there really two "diffrent" games. Street is supposed to be over the top really showing type of games, also a good arcade game. Look at the SSX series, all the trickes they do, I dont belive you could do half the tricks they do in real life. But its all about showing off and haveing fun. Now a game like FIFA and WE/PES is more about a "simulation" style of play and not an arcade style. So yea maybe it isnt a good STREET game but dont compare an arcade game to games that arent arcade.

i agree with Rport03, i think this game is good for its style, like u said fast paced arcadish.

Theyve done a nice and good job (providing the fairly short time they had) on the game. Im quite certain that fifa street 2 will be even better.

RESPECT EA BIG!

People, why dont u first read the full review...

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/592/592555p1.html

I couldnt agree more... and hey... it not an excuse to say "FIFA Street 2 would be better"... common! it better be!... it has to be... room for improvement is huge... like I said on my Preview (YES, done without the game, just from videos), this game is disappointing... poorly crafted... rushed into the market... not even fun... unless you like playing a NBAStreet v0.2 that passes the ball with the feet and has a bigger net... with a unpredictable golie in front of it.... get real people, you just cant love everything EA does... lets be more critical and realize this is not a good game .... the 5.5 score speaks for itself... and the guy on IGN isnt bashing or anything... like many of us, he was expecting this game and was ready to enjoy it throughly... didnt happen.

"fast paced arcadish." ????? lots of original Arcade games were much better, not having the graphics and the licenses...

Come on, you can't rely on IGN to give you an actual review of a SOCCER game. They have no clue what they are talking about! Have you seen them play in the videos? It's like they forgot that the game was based around skill:kader: No offense, but the people at IGN have no idea how the game of soccer should be played. Oh, and have you checked the reader reviews? From people who actually know what street futbol is all about? Well my suggestion to you is to read the reader reviews. They gave it a 9.3 overall! Some people gave it 9.7 and even 9.8!! In my opinion the game was outstanding. (Y)

My Score: 8.5:rockman:

Carvasd, im happy with the game and at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. i dont mind if i cant control the keeper of if he ****es up once in 3 games (stupid mistakes), i just want to be able to do trips and cool moves which im not able to in another other game. and thats what i looked for in this game.. and i got it.

Well first on the list of list of improvements should be through balls, in my opinion. :)

Well thats is very true, the videos at ign there playing like the regular fifa games. There not useing tricks and doing whatever. I mean yea they could make the ball not stick to your feet as much, make it arcadish and yet somehwhat realistic but remember forget how FIFA and WE/PES plays like and just have a blast with it, do tricks, fast paced games, yea it could be improved to make it better but me personally they only reason I read reviews is to see what they think but if the game interests me id go buy it and see for myself. There was this one game I belive street hoops, it came out a few years back, IGN and Gamspot gave it crappy scores and reviews but yet when I borrowed it from my friend it was an awesome game, customizing everything, graphics and gameplay were very decent. But they gave them really bad scores, so go figure.

Its not that I beleive throughly what IGN says, I just happen to like the page and Im even a member... but just like you guys I make my own desitions based on looking at the game videos and reviews and then playing it... I think what the guy at IGn says and I support it, is that the game is really far away from what we all expected, even if you got your fancy skill set and a fast paced soccer game... we're not comparing ti to FIFA and WE in terms of gameplay, ince its a different approach, but, the game is unpolished and its quite behind from how games are produced today, like I said, it really seems rushed... I mean we can alll enjoy looking at the skill moves, but is that really it?...

Some of must say is just enough for you, but, like 'starhannes' said, it comes down to personal preferences.... and on my opinion , having already played lots lots of soccer games, this is not a good one, not even with its different approach...

oh! and I dont agree that IGN opiion is not correct just because he doesnt seem to know how to play a soccer game... I do think u can judge a game without being the best on it

i "borrowed" the game a few days ago and even being a FIFA fan, i think i played the game for 20 mins before I chucked the disc at the wall, it was just another crap street title. EAbig wake the f*ck up and stop making the street games, I am trying to figure out how NBA street has made it 3 games and NFL street 2 and now this crap. all i have to say is crap crap crap crap crap crap crap

the fields are way to small to even move around it, at least with crap a$$ NBA and NFL street you had space to move.

has anyone of the fifa street critics here ever played street football?

I don't think so...

and even if they did like I did...u can't imagine a street title to be completely real..but considering that ea hasn't the best of reputations when it comes to footy sim titles...they did the most realistic of street games...u can get a lot of dribles that actually are executable...and u can imagine them fitting in a new fifa title (not all of them of course).

for fun, for the goals and for the idea, I'd rate it 9...excellent game, considering no one was bold enough to release something this worth (and considering that we8 dribles are LAME...word from a fan)

so, if u don't apreciate crazy footy stuff...if ur business is passing, crossing and watching the 'scheme' develop inside a football field...don't buy it...this is for the ones who make football really fun.

oh yeah! playing differents type of soccer (indoor, outdoor, 'street') for the last 15 years at least... as well as I have played fifa games for more than 10....

all this allows me to expect responsive and controlable video games soccer players... not only fancy motion captured skill moves... have you seen the players run? are they dragging something or what? hahahaha.....

yes i agree with you on this one. IGN did say pretty much the truth, however they just really emphazised the points that they made and made the whole game seem crap. However i dont think it is. It has its good points such as the tricks and the nice combos (which for me is the point of this game)

oh and the second point, well i agree too you dont have to be the best. but watch the IGN videos LOL! The guy at IGN might as well have let his grand mother play, she couldve played better! really if you watch a 'better' person play, it will make the game look alot better since u can see the tricks, passes, crosses goals etc.. know what i mean?

k thats all :)

yeah, I would also have to agree on that, he doesnt seem to play pretty good... you might think that they took those videos before the review and the game launch, in order to post them as a way for people to get to know the game... before he played those LONG hours he talks about, 'cause, I think he said he finished it... you better play better in order to finish it...

Fifa street was created to add a fast paced,action-filled angle to the game where you would be able to score more goals and not wait a whole lot of time for a team to score.

one more time I'll say this one more thing for sure: fifa has evolved so much more than we and pes in the last editions (which have been a lot in this last year!!!)...

u can tell that from we8 liveware video (upcoming to march 24th)...there are many dribles that u don't actually see in we, but u do see them in fifa05 and fifa street...that shows the real competition between ea and konami has really set a start...

i don't think that uefa cl and and fifa street, both in the same year very before the world cup year (which it always means a fifa world cup edition for ea) hasn't a special meaning...u can expect for more, folks...and I'm as well...(i could tell, once more too, that fifa 06 will bring elements from fifa street...cause many animations and some looks are 'borrowed' from fifa...and check the credits...u tell me)

about fifa street, yeah it has its flaws, of course..but they don't make the game annoying...it is so damn fun to execute, block, score with those fancy animations...there's the turning point that deserved ea's look both in fifa football and street...a more loose control, when u change the direction of the guy in the run, it seems like he's beginning a totally new dash...if the control were more loose, more 'analogic' in its reponsiveness, the result would be amazing coz it has got the animations to look so.

i agree totally. one big purpose of this game was to try to start selling football to people here in America. i've yet to play it, but i have friends on our football team (american football) who hate soccer football, but love this game. i can't wait til i play it, i'm probably renting it this weekend.

I can't wait for Fifa Street 2.

I want in that game more national teams (up to 32 or something and with Colombia), some club teams, better ball physics, real and street legends, a "my team" versus mode, personalized moves for specialplayers, An stadium edit option, weather and more in game options.
