Jagged edges issue!

In particular look at the player models and that green strip of grass on the outside - is it my new graphics card causing the issue or has Nokami fecked up the game engine such that all anti-aliasing settings don't work in PES2008? I've tried everything but to no avail, infact the game looks even worse since getting a bigger and better monitor?!

My PC is Pentium Core Duo 3.0GHz (with 2GB PC-6400 RAM), ATI Radeon HD2900 XT 512MB (PCI-E 16x).

Maybe try a higher resolution??? Im not too sure about konami's settings on anti-aliasing...not sure whether its like pes6, but have you tried turning up anti-aliasing in catalyst control centre for your graphics card???

I've tried a higher resolution, including 1680 x 1050 but still have the same issues, I've tried almost every possible anti-aliasing setting in Catalyst Control Centre but it has no effect, though it works for every other game I have. I tried it with PES6 and there's no jagged edges apart from when you zoom close up on player models.

I can only assume it's a Nokami "bad programming" thing. :S

Maybe try ATI Tools...it may force anti-aliasing...the link is here...it is a very good program:

Also make sure anti-aliasing isnt on application preference in CCC...but you probably already tried that...i dunno thats all i got sorry...on my pc jagged edges are bad but certainly not as bad as your screen shot. The far sidleline looks terrible.

BTW what OS do you have? If you are running XP i seriously recommend using omegadrivers rather than the ati drivers...they are suberb and designed for gaming and may also fix your problem. Also Omegadrivers come with ATI Tray tools.

My PC isnt great and i run the game on 1024x768 with an ATI x850 XTPE on Vista with all CCC Settings on the highest they can go and jagged edges arent too bad a problem, well certainly not as bad as what you are experiencing.

When it comes to Anti-Aliasing, PES doesn't support it (and never has)
You could however force Anisotropic Filtering and see if that helps. I strongly recommend to get rid of the bloated Catalyst Control Center and install ATI Tray Tools instead like pauloz suggested. It's much easier to configure and you can make game-profiles with specific videocard settings.

And make sure you're running the game in your monitor's native resolution! Eventually install Kitserver which adresses some aspect ratio problems when using widescreen resolutions. (since your screenshot looks very stretched)

Cheers for the tips guys. I'm running the game at 1280x1024 but set the aspect ratio in Kitserver to 1.6, because for some reason the game stutters a bit at my monitor's native resolution (1650x1068).

I got some other issues with my PC that are nagging me (Windoze fecking up!) but I've got a second hard disk so I'm gonna reinstall XP on that and stick the Omega Drivers on with ATI Tray Tools and see how that goes.

You are actually right, but there are still some options, and for example on NVIDIA cards users could force AA even in PES serie through nHancer, unfortunately this tool is made for NVIDIA cards only.
