Its close to being an excellent game....

Dear friends

Its so close to being an excellent game, but its just not quite there. It hard to explain what it is, sometimes I feel as though I'm not quite in control, the ball seems to float and the camera sometimes just can't keep up. I NOT slating the game, because it has some excellent gameplay (much better than fifa, though I'm sorry to say its no iss2!!!). I hope a patch may sort out these slight problems, who knows..?

Peace love and a whopping big patch!

Totally agree on that whooping patch part :D And they better hurry since FIFA 2002 is lurking somewhere and from the FIFA 2002 forum I heard there will be major improvement on the gameplay. Let's see....

I agree on the point about increasing the pitch size. This is something we looked at but due to time restrictions couldn't do. It would certainly give the players more time to think and would also slow the game down somewhat.

Hi again Jon,
I got a feeling the game isn't really finished, and the time constraint you said probably explains it. If they had given you more time, I think it would be a better game. I've read a preview of the game on france gaming site and it said that the ball is too sticky to the player but will be improved on the final version (they previewed the game when it's 70-80%). I guess Infogrames push the release date too early...
I found lots of bugs on the game itself, and I'm sure you already aknowledge them. But somehow I still play the game since I trully like it :) So please, a big whooping patch is badly needed.

YAY!!! About bloody time - we've finally got a developer talking to the community.
For years we've been talking to each other about how FIFA could be improved and not a peep from anyone inside EA, there's also their forum of lost souls where you can vent all you like and never get a response.
How the hell do they expect to make a game the fans want without ever talkng to us!!

Anyway, Uefa Challenge is already a better game than FIFA and going by EA's promises of major changes dating back to fifa 99 I'm not holding my breath for fifa 2002.

Passing in UEFA is much more fluid than fifa with player running off the ball well - but being able to pass the ball to your strikers feet so they can hold the ball up seems almost impossible. Also when trying to hold the ball up you almost always get thumped from behind which is a problem fifa has had since day one. Hopefully your team won't take 5 years to sort it out :)

Jon a quick question does your team play ISS and if so whats your opinion of it.
