Like most apple products they'll sell a ton of them in teh first couple of months when all the appleheads lineup to buy them.
Bu then depending on the general reviews and sentiment will tell whether the thing is a hit or miss and the general public jumps on the bandwagon.
As for the product itself, I think it'll go the path of the iphone 2G. It'll be "okay", but the next models will be the ones that will make the world turn.
From my understanding, no multi-tasking, heavy, and no camera. If it can't compete with a netbook then it won't do too well (not to mention it costs much more than a netbook).
I retract all my sentiments though if it gets a multi-tasking update.

- it does not have video output, neither does the iPad.
- it does not have skype, neither does the iPad.
- it has a 10,000 year battery life, unlike the iPad.
- it can multitask, the iPad cannot.

Just the 5 megapixel camera. Other than that its the same as the iPod Touch. It uses the same OS as well: iPhone OS. They could at least have implemented Mac OS in it.
EDIT: this video is 3 years old. So the iPad doesn't even have a camera. That sucks. It isn't even compatible with Flash.
