+ made by konami! lots of respect for this game company... notice that it has licensing from adidas... very cool. Beckham shoud be sporting the adidas predators i hope

- config menus feature PS2 buttons... confusing, they should have labeled the button with the corresponding action. Still worlds better than FIFA since you can configure them

+ real players and real national teams... i had been expecting generic players and face, didn't realize they had real players. No big clubs included, though they can be easily created i suppose.

+ lots of options on hand... take note EA. Menu's are a bit drab, but that's ok.

ok starting a game here

+ loading is quick, there are a lot of cut scenes to skip before the game starts... excellent job on the player faces! Again pleasantly surprised.

- gameplay is a smooth 60fps... but drops to 30ish during long kicks and headers... perhaps i need to tweak my settings a bit, probably a refresh rate issue.

+ ball physics are great, passing is excellent. My opponent scores, bummer, but nice net physics! the whole net moves as it should.

+ game feels more responsive than FIFA.

there you are, my first impressions. The game is more polished than I had expected (considering it's their first PC port), very nice job Konami.

there are 64 big clubs included in the final version, although they have some generic names that are easily changed (plus they play like their real counterparts, so don't expect Milan to string passes together ;) 0

+ found the edit player options... excellent stuff... can change almost everything about the player, face, appearance, boots, etc.

- notice a nasty refresh issue, the entire screen is not in sync... going to head over to the PES board to see if this is a common issue.

- noticed that some national teams dont' have real players... sux

+ cg intro is good stuff... tho fifa's is damn good as well

EDIT:

- the wavy lines issue is annoying, turning vsync on helps this... however it also makes the game slow down to 30 fps near the goal area.... since the game doesn't drop any frames, things slow down to a halt.

Very very annoying, I'm loving the gameplay but the technical problems suck. Konami needs to release a patch to change the refresh rate of the game.

i've gotten my technical problems fixed, now how the hell do you score in this game?

the AI is very smart and i've yet to score :(

it is more fun than FIFA at this point... because you can dribble by your opponent and cross them up.. more fun than fifa's super tackle.

The game is definitely more challenging and more like real soccer. You need to change your tactics as well as find the tactics that work best for your squad. Konami has really mastered the gameplay and AI in this game. I believe there is an FAQ on this site for WE6 (similar to PES3--I imagine an FAQ is in the works for the new game as well) that gives tips on how to be more successful in the game.
